Southgate names his England squad tomorrow. Based on form and ability Maddison would be in but bearing in mind the "managing his fitness game by game" situation at the moment do you think the club would request that he's not considered? If we've got his training and pre-match preparation (possibly involving needles) in a finely tuned balance can we risk handing him over to another environment and set of conditions? I know that under Fergie, Paul Scholes and others were "made unavailable" and whilst I'd love to see him make a place in the starting line up his own ASAP, I selfishly want him available for all our remaining games too :dunno:

Having seen Northern Ireland call up Evans though I don't think there's such dialogue at the moment.

Has Madders warranted a call up based on his form following the WC? Not convinced personally.

Evans needs to get his match fitness up rather than manage his playing time - suspect we’re relaxed for him to be going

Yes. His form has been good. Goals, assists and creating sitters that have been missed. You see the difference when he doesn't play.

Absolutely. We need him on the pitch if we are going to stay up.

Love how Kyle Walker is still included despite alleged charge of indecent exposure hanging above him. Also Ivan Toney despite alleged betting breaches.

Good job they didn't go to a casino!

Also, Southgate is still involved despite the charge of gross professional incompetence hanging over his head. 😞

Nice to see Madders in the England squad - just don't get him injured and let him get his second cap!

Don’t worry, he’ll be safe on the bench the entire time.

BR: James complained he was getting pins and needles on his pelvis so we've sent him for a scan. I have every confidence Bouba Soumare can fill that attacking threat

Great assist today but not the best overall performance, I do not think he has been as good as he was earlier in the season playing from the right, I would drop Tete put Madders on the right and play Nacho behind Daka.

Too much like Bruno Fernandes today. But creates the goal.

Yeah I don't know if he feels there's more pressure on him as the captain or he's just frustrated with how shit we are but he's going to get himself sent off sooner or later, and then we really are going to be in the shit

How many more yellows until he is on a ban?

He’d need to get 2 more in our next 5 games. He’s on 8, but you need to get 10 before your teams 33rd game before it’s wiped.

Also it would be a 2 game ban, not a 1 game ban for 10 yellows.
