I don't know why office people like me have to do 'leadership coaching' from 'coaches' that profess to work with elite sportsmen etc. I am not an elite athlete, I work in an office. How are you going to 'unlock elite performance' from me 'to maximise the abilities of my team and unleash their best potential' and 'enhance market presence and income.' These people steal a living.

Or maybe I am becoming more and more like that miserable poster who calls everyone thick and hates everything, I cannot recall their name which is bugging me even more than this self-professed coach.

Someone needs to start a list...

I was woken up this morning at around 4:30am to the sounds of a man beating some woman up, right in front of my house.

It all happened so quickly but this woman was clearly very distressed screaming "help" with this individual pleading with her to "get in" (assuming a car). After a minute or so it went all quiet, so I'm assuming the woman did get in the car. I'm assuming it wasn't a random attack as they seemed to know each other.

Of course I wanted to go out and help but obviously was considering my own safety as this individual clearly doesn't have any boundaries and would've just ended up getting caught up in a fight. I would've called the police but before I had a chance it was all over so didn't see the point.

Traumatic all round. Hope she's okay :ermm:

Why does anyone ever quote cvnts like Barton. It’s precisely what publicity seeking gobshites like him want. Block, mute, move on and the world is happy. I don’t get the whole engage and share culture - it’s like you are all living off the value of polarisation.

We know he’s a cvnt - nobody needs another example of why.

I muted him on twitter and I've only ever done that to a few people on there since 2009

So easy for people to spread rubbish, I just can't be doing with it.

On my next 'elite performance super amazing high intensity' course at work. Fair play to the 'coach' - even though it's online he must be able to tell I am paying no attention and doing my work. Outed me to answer a question in front of the group which I had not listened to, gave a fluffy corporate answer and he started mock clapping then 'wow what a value add answer cheers mate!!' in direct contrast to his earlier demeanor of 'everyone is right this is a safe space'

I wanted to bring out the buzzwords of 'safe space, anxiety, no wrong answer' etc but given he's completely sown me up and figured me out, thought better of it.

Find it remarkable how many people have 100% confidence in their ability to convert alcoholic drinks from % of alcohol & volume of drink to blood alcohol level to alcohol breath level with 100% confidence.

Not condoning drink driving

Badge of honour that.

My best one was a "better conversations" course which, so it was claimed, enabled anyone with training to be able to control, diffuse, lead and solve any tense workplace situation.

It ended up with me and the trainer having a stand up, face to face, slanging match at eachother.

Guess he couldn't diffuse all conversations.

Absolutely epic.

Didnt know where else to put this.. just seen on facebook, but found it mildly interesting....

In 1978, an FM radio station accidentally played "Imaginary Lover" at the wrong speed. The radio station received favorable calls and opted to let the song play at the incorrect speed. Sonically, the vocals resembled the voice of Stevie Nicks, who later heard of the incident and purchased the record. Upon playing the record at 45 rpm, she said that it gave her the chills and that it sounded "exactly like something I’d sing, the way I’d sing it". While Nicks was presenting demos for the Tusk album, she mixed in the sped up version of "Imaginary Lover" with her other material. One of her bandmates, Christine McVie, assumed that it was an original composition from Nicks and complimented her. Fleetwood Mac engineer Hernán Rojas later heard that the Atlanta Rhythm Section learned of the incident and "didn't find it as funny as we did". A link to the song sped up from 33 to 45

Please report this. If you know the time and location, there's every chance your neighbours will have doorbell or dashcam footage that will help convict this scumbag.

Witnessed two similar incidents around ten years ago - one where a guy was battering the woman in broad daylight and the other where he actually tried to attack me because I was helping his victim pick up the pieces of her phone that he'd thrown out the window. Sadly, nothing ever came of either even though police were involved and I gave statements - the first incident was in broad daylight and witnessed by dozens, while in the second I was able to name the cvnt and was also technically a victim of assault too.

Even so, it only becomes a problem for these fvcking wasters who batter women if we as a society make it a problem for them by reporting any instance we see of it. Please let the police know. It might not help the poor girl you saw, but every time it's recorded it makes it more likely that something - anything - might get done to stop these absolute cvnts from preying on vulnerable women.

Good on you for helping when you did... and lets hope ( i believe we have) that society has changed in regard and police are much more likely to act now.

Just found out a very inspirational teacher of mine died in 2019. Feel like I’ve been punched in the stomach. Haven’t seen him for many years but I didn’t have many “inspirational” teachers who I feel shaped my career choices and allowed me to dream and subsequently achieve.

Feels gutting that I didn’t make more of an effort after achieving key milestones (graduating, qualifying, achieving self employment etc.) that I didn’t make more of an effort to contact him to just thank him.

My experience is that there are not many who teach who are inspirational. It’s a job. Fair enough. The very few who do make that impact are gold dust. He certainly made a significant impact in my life.

Rest in peace. Legendary teacher.

It's darkly hilarious that by the end of this year, when need for global cooperation is bigger than ever, it's a strong chance that we'll have the four most powerful nations on the planet all being run by self-interested nationalist fridge magnets. Two (China and Russia) in perpetuity, two (India and USA) by those who would very much like perpetuity and intend to bend the rules as much as they can get away with in that regard.

Einstein had it right about such sentiments a century ago. He knew where it would lead.
