Best Way To Take A Penalty

Seen a lot of chat after Lookman's embarrassment last night. 

 

How would you take your penalties - your preferred method?

 

I'm in favour of how Vardy and Gallagher would take penalties. 100% power but keep it on target (obviously). Less chance of a keeper holding on to it if he does guess the right way but also slightly less time for the keeper to react.

Have always been in the 'pick a side and blast it's camp. Even more so now keepers are chained to their line. Hit it hard enough and they shouldn't have time to save it.

If Lookman had done that and they were 3-0 there would of been nowhere near as much stick. There's a time and a place to try that and that definitely was not either. Just get your head down and smash it if its saved then its a good save the majority of the time rather than a bad miss.

Straight down the middle. Statistically, a goalkeeper will either dive left or right. They won't want to be seen to be just standing there because they'll look ridiculous if the taker goes to one side.

Low and hard usually as you can get a corner or rebound chance if you miss.

 

Saying that, you also want to mix it up so keepers dont just correctly guess what you've normally done.

Just keep your eyes on the goalkeeper. As soon as he starts to move one way slightly just slide it the other way.

Hard to a top corner. It's the sweet spot.

Bit of a redundant question as if your a regular penalty taker you need to mix it up else keepers will very quickly work you out.

 

Those sky sports graphics they do to show the last 5 penalties are never all in the same spot are they?
