Possibly one of the worst performances I can remember.

 

If he's not dropped out of the squad completely then Marti is just more of a joke than you could imagine. 

 

I mean you could play Faes there or anyone really!

Blackburn in the FA Cup was the worst game I've seen him have. Or maybe Brighton away in that 6-2 debacle where he appeared to be running with an invisible ball and chain to his leg AND in quicksand. 

 

One of those scenarios where I'm disappointed to be right. I've checked this thread, and I've been calling the lad out since 19 July 2020.  I was aghast that we had to play him and Ryan Bennett. 

 

I've had pleasant,.polite exchanges with his uncle on here who accepted the generally polite points I've made over the years about how poor a player I think he is. Not his fault. Just a sad indictment on the club at the woeful managers we've had that only one, Maresca, immediately saw him for what he was and bombed him out of the 25 man squad after 1 training session. Maybe Dean Smith also recognised how bad he is,.I can't remember tbh. But Cooper, the demented Dutchman, the spiteful Rodgers and now Cifuentues have all CHOSEN to play a lad who'd struggle in the non league

OK,

 I’ve been on here defending him to a certain extent, only a couple of weeks ago but I have to confess I have absolutely no interest in ever doing so again. 
 That has to be THE WORST performance I have seen in many years from a single player and I can’t defend him anymore. 

 I hold my head in shame and those who berated me for speaking up for what I previously saw in him I apologise and please let it be known I’ve seen the light and Ive wholeheartedly jumped ship to join you. 
 

Every single aspect of his performance today deserves every pelter he’s getting and more.

Fair play, agree it was one of the worst performances i've seen. 

 

What a trajectory, he's gone from marshalling Salah brilliantly to having an incredibly poor performance against a young winger in the Championship. The modern game requires physicality and his lack of attention to building his stamina and strength is a liability.

He's capable of a one off performance and works really hard at times. But that's about the best you can say for him. That's me being kind because I was ****ing hammering him earlier watching it. 

 

He's well thought of by some clubs and they've offered decent money for him in the past. The club have clearly renewed his contact for the pure profit aspect so we have to hope he at least puts in a few performances before end of the season and hope to offload him. 

 

I'm being really generous with all that though because when he's off it, my god he is off it. When you have a player in front who can't help out he can honestly look non league level. We seen it at Forest in the FA Cup with Barnes in front not helping. 

 

Then again he's had some great performances like Forest away last season and the Liverpool game he did well against Salah. He's shown he can do it. Just isn't this level though I'm afraid.
