In fairness at least it looked the part. If you’re going to do something a little bit corny like that at least make it look good, which I thought it did. For a load of plastic bags on seats it did look fairly effective and get everyone talking.

Can we not show them how it’s done next week?

I actually weirdly enjoyed that. What a scrap that was. Some of those boys will be able to hold their heads up high, especially Thomas coming up against their main man Sima directly.

Thank goodness we have some warriors in our team as well, like Cags, Evans, Amartey, Ndidi, Barnes, Albrighton and Vardy. A softer team would've crumbled, especially with all the little tricks of the trade and dark arts going on.

I thought Barnes was our best player. He was always looking to get things going.

But a special mention has to go to Choudhury. It looked like he really relished that kind of scrap against such a hardworking side, putting in the kind of tackles that Slavia were doing all game, getting in their heads with the shush gesture after their guy screamed following a robust but fair challenge. And that cross. Wow. It was practically on a plate for Iheanacho.

I love watching these kinds of games. Less so when Leicester are involved as it's nervy as fvck but it was scrappy and passionate and we fought hard for that European away 0-0 draw. On to the KP where hopefully we can express ourselves a bit more.

One further thing. Cengiz needs to start taking his opportunities soon as they're running out fast.

I liked most of your post -Thought Choudhury did very well I think he's good enough to be valuable as a squad player, glad we've still got him. Barnes had a weaker game but was still our best player up front. Don't think JV minded coming off he's a very mature player these days, anything for the good of the team. I suspect my initial reaction when Vardy had his operation i.e. he had a hernia AND a hip/groin problem was correct. I don't think he should be taking penalties.

Only other thing is Ünders natural game is such that tonight was n't a chance , anything less than 45 minutes is not a chance to any player unless they're lucky, and for Ünder his game looks to me based on flair. Those players often need  90 minuters  for what they offer to become apparent. Flair players take risks not all of which will come off so ideally he needs someone following (not a specialist, just the nearest player) to catch any resulting breakdown. Also no one has yet worked out how to get the ball to him correctly, He needs to get the ball with some space around him,not a lot but some. Once he's running he''ll probably keep it until he sees a shirt of the right colour,(see note) Reminds me a bit of John Robertson for Forest although they don't look exactly the same. It took even Taylor/Clough a while to realise what they had. I'm not sure about two things 1) He's certainly not BRs type of player ,maybe even more valuable because of that as long as he's got 9 of them. 2) I'm not 100% sure about him---- but I've watched a lot of him on youtube and I think he is OK (for what my opinion's worth)  altho obviously BR must decide and BR is going to have to be very clever to find a way to almost integrate him into our team. almost would be perfect.

The time thing is that 90 minutes and 22 players mean each player probably only has the ball about 2 minutes (think about it -I'm guessing-- the statisticians will know)) and may well only have it 1 minute depending how the match is going and where they are playing. In 45 minutes .....30 seconds. Thats longer than it sounds but I'd certainly like my job auditions to be longer.

I thought most of our guys were a bit off tonight and I was more worried in the first few minutes than against L'pool. Soyuncu, Amartey, Choudhury, Thomas, Evans did just about OK though.

Note Roy Keane was told by Clough at his first real club "When you get given the ball keep it until you see another guy in a red shirt  and give it to hIm" Keane said he built a pretty good career out of it.He liked shocking people and still does but I think ita about true. It even worked at his next club.

Wow, Brendan criticising the officials says a lot. Not sure I've ever heard him even mention refs negatively before with us.

They were awful tonight. Complain about the Prem a lot but they made the Prem refs look world class.

Don't like to blame to officials as we created nothing, but they were awful tonight. I thought the yellow for Iheanacho was bad, until he booked Hamza for a good tackle seconds after Under had been upended. Then the foul against Hamza a few minutes later when he was nowhere near the guy was even worse.

The lino gave the second hamza challenge and hamza didn’t question the call

did he book hamza for the first tackle - he gave a throw in ???

you have to remember that away in Europe, you get dodgy calls against you all the time .....

Bringing Iheanacho on changed the momentum of the game a bit. Vardy has always been quite streaky but I’m a bit concerned about his performances this year.

Well aware he’s been carrying injuries and knocks but he’s just not offering much currently, hopefully that’ll change soon. Iheanacho brought runners into the game a bit better and got us up the pitch well.

Already mentioned it but the right side was too conservative and Under’s introduction improved us, Albrighton and Amartey are two condoms together, too much protection.

Thomas impressed again, has all the fundamentals in place already. Coped well against a a physically demanding side.

Evans needs resting, was moving gingerly again.

Should have signed a midfielder on loan, without Tielemans who surely can’t play every game for the rest of the season we have absolutely no creativity from deep.

Pleasing to see Barnes start to show more authority in games even if not too much came off for him today. By the time 25 he’ll be an indomitable orchestrator type.

Given their away record in Europe we should beat them but our squad is shagged and key players need resting. Ünder to start next leg please Brendan.

Agree with this totally. We all Vardy has a limited impact on games apart from scoring but since he’s come back from injury, baring a defensive cock up, he’s done pretty little.

I'm a bit disappointed in the forum tonight . A lot of scouse seemed to have been picked up from our recent meeting. Difficult to sum up why til I. saw Hamza's interview post match on our match centre page. I thought they looked pretty effective too. I must admit my hearing and eyes are not up to hearing high pitched  screams or picking up the state of the pitch. Hamza  went up yet another notch in my estimation.

Until then I was starting to understand why for. a long time some, quite a bit, of the empire liked having us around and why in the end they couldn't wait to get rid of us. I liked the fact their coach watched 23 hours of LCFC videos, probably more than once, I thought their seat arrangement was pretty cool and cheap and I suspect the bags will obviouly be re used. I've never been but I thought Prague castle looked wonderful and I don't think the Kasper I saw on his recently posted extensive interview would have thought the pre match spoof was anything except slightly humourous,if he thought about it at all. I spent many years travelling in Europe and I imagine the Slavs would be equally amused to be called farmers and are bemused, along with the rest of Europe as to by whats happened to us (UK) over the past year and I don't mean Brexit.

Must admit i have n't seen BR and Kasper's post match interviews.BR is careful not to tell me or anyone else anything he talks freely but wisely. I'd rather he said a bit more. I don't remember seeing a Kasper post match Interview.

I’m ok with that result. Not conceding playing away from home in a knockout round of the Europa is. Pretty decent really.

....I do not see it as a good situation to be in......!!!

I would have thought that Slavia would be the happiest having not conceded. We are now left in a situation where they now have two opportunities to win and we only have one option, to score more than them. A 1-0 victory by them is enough to knock us out a 1-1 is also enough to knock us out, which only means we only get the one option of outscoring them.
