STUHILL Posted 14 May 2021 Posted 14 May 2021 5 current Chelsea players won the FA Cup in 2018. Think that experience helps them a lot unfortunately. Hope we can relax and perform on the day. Helps that the semi was at Wembley

bovril Posted 14 May 2021 Posted 14 May 2021 I'll be drinking in the Lyric in Soho (the pub obvs not the theatre) before the game. Pretty laidback place with takeaway ales. Feel free...
gw_leics772 Posted 14 May 2021 Posted 14 May 2021 It's too late to be choosing between cup and cl. 2 cup finals in 4 days. It's all or nothing time (or 1 of the 2)
gerblod Posted 14 May 2021 Posted 14 May 2021 I wonder how the lads are feeling at this moment. It's different for them - it's their job and their personal showcase but they know how it'll be if they win. Heroes for ever round these parts. They'll be nervous and so will Chelsea - but I hope the nerves translate into a performance they can be proud of. It's a different Leicester City these days - we certainly won't be lacking any class in comparison with them. I think we will need aggression - to keep taking the battle to them - rather than letting them dictate the patterns. I know I'm going to find it difficult to watch, but I wouldn't miss seeing it for anything.

bovril Posted 14 May 2021 Posted 14 May 2021 Whatever happened to the FA Cup song? What was the last club to release one?

Can't wait to hear "Abide With Me" - every time I heared it at the Cup Final, I always dreamed one day it might be us. Fantastic. Getting my stuff sorted tonight - you know - ticket, covid test result, mask, sanitiser, silver dagger, rabbits foot, clove of garlic Buzzing! I remember as a kid my mum would always get tearful when they sang abide with me before the cup final, she said it reminded her of when she sang it at our 60s finals. I’ll be singing it loud for her tomorrow if I can hold my voice together, hopefully she will hear me/us from up there. 2 1

One of the most iconic games in my footballing memory is the Spurs vs Arsenal FA Cup Semi-Final featuring THAT Gazza freekick. Plus, Semi’s tend to be a little more open that finals and a better game. True, Wembley’s not the stadium it was and rates as a bloody expensive and disappointing day out if you end up losing - but I don’t see how winning the cup is deemed less of an achievement because you happened to have played at Wembley twice.
fuchsntf Posted 14 May 2021 Posted 14 May 2021 Just think, the last Nights sleep before the dawn... For many , it will be the First time...Ahh The innocence of virginity... Always that question can they hold it up..for the First time, or the Fifth Time of Shooting their bolt.... 2

It’s strange with me, excitement at the minute, no nerves. Maybe a few nerves before kick off, but not much. But the moment we go 1-0 up I’m shitting myself.

Just want it to kick off now, it's all nerves. The fact it's played before the season ends, and we have 2 potentially season defining fixtures the following week, means I have mixed focus. I so badly want CL 2

Are you old enough to remember the FA Cup games in the 60's and 70's?
Ricey Posted 14 May 2021 Posted 14 May 2021 Feels very surreal to me at the minute. It doesn’t really feel real and I’m obviously insanely jealous of the lucky people who will be there. I feel like I should be there and I can’t really shift that feeling at the minute. It’s a bonus game for me. I’m not expecting to win and that’s fine as I don’t think I’ll be too down if we don’t. Although I’m sure the hope and expectation will creep in if we go ahead. I’m just going to enjoy the day and make the very best of it that I can. My daughter has called it a “Filbert party” and we’ve got balloons, banners, face paints etc ready to go. It’s not a normal nor a traditional FA Cup final and we shouldn’t pretend that it is, but we will all remember where we were if Leicester finally win the FA Cup, even if for most of us it will be stuck at home in front of the TV. If you are going tomorrow, make sure that 6,000 sounds like 30,000 and give them a cheer from me. COME ON LEICESTER 🦊 1
Mikw Posted 14 May 2021 Posted 14 May 2021 Hope Leicester win, i'll be too nervous to watch. I fear a tonking though. Perhaps my pessimistic nature, I hope we win so much though
