lnkstern Posted 14 May 2021 Posted 14 May 2021 I obviously don't have the history with this cup that most other Leicester supporters have, but I still want to see a win. Every sports league in the US ends with a tournament (playoffs), so it is hard for some American casuals to understand the significance of the FA Cup. I think I am beginning to understand. I make no predictions, but I have eternal optimism for a victory! 2
Ian Nacho Posted 14 May 2021 Posted 14 May 2021 Hopefully I can still stomach listening to Madness after tomorrow. 1

I make no predictions, but I have eternal optimism for a victory! It stems I think from there not being much football on TV back when we were kids. At least I don’t remember much of it, so when the FA Cup was on TV it was your chance to watch, and everyone did. In the modern era It’s a bit different and understand it losing it’s edge for the younger generations as TV is saturated with football now. 1
Jattdogg Posted 15 May 2021 Posted 15 May 2021 Woooooo let's bring this cup home to Leicester for once. Super excited and cant wait to watch you lads lift the trophy!

Scotch Posted 15 May 2021 Posted 15 May 2021 You know what really pisses me off? I read a comment on the Chelsea forum yesterday and it was something along the lines of.... " All the memories of our FA cup wins bleed together in my head. I can't really pick them apart from each other. Asking me to name a favourite is like asking me to pick my favourite ever bowl of cornflakes that I've had". They really don't care about winning this. 2
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 15 May 2021 Posted 15 May 2021 Up until now I’ve been scared because Chelsea have more ‘big game’ players with more experience. But thinking about it, do they? They are also a young team with a smattering of experience. Not sure it’s a big distinction from our side…

Not sure it’s a big distinction from our side… Since the great escape we've built up no end of experience in top-level competition. We have three Belgian internationals! In Schmeichel, Vardy and Evans we have guys who've seen it all. I believe we match them technically and probably better them in temperament. It's about making and taking the chances. It could go either way but we don't go into this as underdogs - no way. 1

We were all rightly incensed about this blatant cheating, but Danny Baker was so upset about it he got sacked from the BBC for ranting about it and setting his audience on the ref Obviously, Danny Baker is a bit if a gobby whalloper, but I always had a soft spot for him after that. 1
fazzyfox Posted 15 May 2021 Posted 15 May 2021 Depending on Evans we know 2 or 3 variations of what Brendan might pick but does anyone think he'll try something different as a curve ball such as a 4-1-2-3 with Vardy to the left or (just playing Devills Advocaat whatever the saying is) throws Choudhury or Praet in for an extra body in midfield (scenes on here) ? I have faith in all of our boys, I tend to find the good and bad performances hinge on how involved our wide players can get, for me that will be the key, whether it's a 5 or a 4 at the back. Our 3 CB's, the 3 midfielders of Ndidi, Youri and Maddison plus Vardy and Nacho, I have every faith will be involved throughout, It's just getting extra impact from the wing backs that can swing it.
st albans fox Posted 15 May 2021 Posted 15 May 2021 How should we expect the game to pan out ? i would look at their game on Wednesday. Even without an early goal for us, I would expect expect them to be able to outdo us physically with their intensity to press us and win back possession fairly high. they should be more rested than us with their rotation and hence more able to put it in .....that will carry over to Tuesday too. so two v tough games which may not be so easy on the eye from our perspective as we battle away with only 35% of the ball do they have the cutting edge to make that count? Will they set traps to bring us higher up and then counter what usually becomes quite a high line ? Can we be way more clinical than the past few games when we get opportunities? could be a very tactical evening and very stressful for us. ...........

I do feel as well that the win at OT - yes against reserves - was vital in terms of confidence for this one. Still a symbolic place to get a win. 1

Fairly certain if our regular 3 CBs are all fit it'll be the usual formation. If Evans doesn't start, Albrighton will be starting and it'll be that kind of 3 at the back when in possession with the wing backs pushing forward and then switching to 4 at the back when not like we were (at least for a fair bit of the game) against United. 1
