The sad thing is if and when this SL idea is thrown out people will be falling over themselves to accept the new CL format which is nearly as bad just a watered down version of the SL

I'm becoming more and more convinced this is going ahead. At first I thought it was just posturing, but now I'm not so sure. They will look very foolish if they backdown.

Sadly, this gives people a chance to get their weird regional prejudice about Liverpool out.

So you did not think Jamie was willing to criticise, but just not Liverpool?

Pretty pointless and pathetic if you ask me - wear them for the cameras by all means, but for now at least, everyone below the highest echelon of clubs are entirely innocent.

I agree with you, but it's a knee jerk reaction to this Super league bs.

Not exactly encouraging words from Steve Parish regarding the potential to punish the 6

It’s not unlike how these same English clubs forced the FA into accepting the creation of the PL leaving the FA with little influence over it and allowing those clubs to determine who got the most money.

I think people like to find fault wherever possible, generally. I'm not going to fall out with you over a specific.

As @ttfn mentioned,if they are breaking the contracts, they need to foot the bill. We shouldn't be hit by association. We're happy, as the 14 other clubs, to go by the current regulations. We had to pay a rebate for circumstances out of our control last year, this is a self-made problem by six teams.

As I've said, I don't see how these clubs can continue in this league after this but we shouldn't be hit by it. They pay the price.

Really interested in the point that was mentioned earlier around Council's giving club's permission to use the name which they could strip.

Don't think it would bother most of them one bit - almost seems like the ideal scenario for them. If the city/borough/town name etc becomes irrelevant, they have the franchise ready made. Manchester United are just United. Real Madrid just Real. It's inconsequential when the community you're based in doesn't matter. American sports have been moving franchises for over a century. It's suits this lot to a tee.

If this goes ahead, the next step is uproot the clubs, adding in a select few as they go, based on location more so than perceived status, and have them playing in NFL style conferences (probably hemisphere based), before Real Tokyo take on Dubai United in the Super League Bowl.

Disgusting.

Not falling out, there is nothing here to warrant such a thing.

For now, but at what point do they no longer become innocent? Fans have only a small influence (if any) but as massive club assets players and managers clearly have some choice in what they can do and how to wield that power. Their silence is ALSO a choice but ALSO has meaning. I don't think it's bad for fans to urge them to take some sort of position. They are asking them to be an ally. Obviously as long as the fans aren't abusive or aggressive.

I expect the players have been advised to keep quiet for now, at our club as well.
