Manchester United (A) Pre Match (Tues 11 May 2021 18:00) BT Sport

Recommended Posts

Fred, Fernandes, Pogba, Greenwood, Shaw and AWB have all played at least 135 minutes in their last two games.  Add to that Lindelof and McTominey both played the full 90 yesterday.  Plus Maguire is injured.

Really hoping that Pogba and Fernandes don't play.

To be honest I'm more interested in their line up than I am of our own.

I'm hoping OGS uses this game to rest all his main players as playing Thu-Sun-Tue-Thu is insane and asking for injuries before the Europa final. A strong back five and a few talented kids who have been in and around the first team with the odd sub appearance. Chuck them in at the deep end and see what they're made of.

              Shoretire

       Amad  Mata  Elanga

            Matic  De Beek

Telles  Bailly  Tuanzebe  Williams

               De Gea

You going for the “Schooled by the school kids” headline?  lol

I'm the opposite, couldn't care less what side they put out. This game is a chance for us to shut the door on that awful Newcastle game, before the biggest game in years.

Play like we did against them in the FA Cup and we can beat whatever side they put out. Play like we did against Newcastle and we can definitely lose to any side they put out.

wouldnt be surprised to see Wilf at CB with Fofana and Cags either side.

                      Kasper

Castange Fofana N'didi Soyunchu Thomas

               Mendy Youri

Maddison (Would be tempted by Praet)

                  Vardy Kel

Would be tempted by Praet for Maddison not because i have anything against Maddison just think he would be better rested if he was going to sat on Saturday.

The more I think about this match the more I’m not to concerned about what team we face but am more keen for changes as it means Liverpool will most probably face a more difficult game.  Would be madness if they barely make any changes and we’d surely have far more legs like the fa cup game and I’d fancy us. However, if they do make changes we obviously play a weakened United side and I’d still fancy us but then you’d expect the big guns will be back refreshed to play Liverpool.

                      Kasper

        Amartey Fofana Cags

Castagne Tielemans Ndidi Thomas

                     Perez

          Nacho          Vards

I like the thought of bringing in Fuchs, but unfortunately Cags just can't seem to play anywhere other than that left side of the back three, so I am not sure it would work.

Prepare for  Evans-less FA.cup final

So put Trust Now in the Two young CBs...

                  Schmeichel

Ricardo   Fofana.   Soyu    Castagna

                    Ndidi

        Albrighton     Tielemans

                      Praet

              Nacho.  Vardy

Subs:  Ward, Perez,Maddison, Mendy, Thomas,Amartey, (young player)

This Team gives us a decent defensive holding side, where all could hold on the back foot, but also shown they can get & move into swift attacking mode,

, also if we can give any decent service, This Team has the fire-power, while any back 6, as an Holding 3, if 1-2 of them go on foraging runs...

We are at Old trafford, so Dont allow holes to develope or appear...Ricardo, Castagna playing with their FB-Heads on,

Not their WBs, Ndidi more hold and feed, around the back 2-3rds of the pitch...

I am in 2 minds with Praet...either Box to box, with Tielemans/Albrighton/Ndidi as his outlet, or  tact & roamer ready to Open up

with the Front 2 & Albrighton, where. Ndidi wouldn t be around his space, only as a defensive back pass,

then he & Tielemans are the pair to Feed or create attacking channels & moves..

IMO....Praet looks & has a better eye for a Pass or movement, than Perez...Where Perez can drive for those holes and spaces, around the 30m area..

According to their forums they are seemingly happy for us to take the points if it stops Liverpool getting top 4 😁😜😂

I can actually believe that.

The problem is the Kids they put out will be trying to impress.

I am being hard here...Fuchs is the romantic choice...Thomas,Soyuncu,Fofana, Amartey are now the better choices..!

Protestor has never scored a Premier League goal before so that's at least 11 we'll ship.

I'd be surprised if he moved away from the back three. We've used that system to good effect in matches this season when the game plan has been to keep it tight, stay in the game, hit teams on the counter or go for it at the end.

I just can't see him going with a 3-5-2 against West Brom, Palace, Southampton and Newcastle, but then shift to a 4-2-3-1 against Man Utd, Chelsea and Spurs.

I have also have a feeling they'll patch Evans up and make him play through the pain.

I also have a feeling that I'm going to be a wreck throughout.

Cavani is the only player there that would concern me tbh.

I really hope they make that many changes.

Cavani is one of those players who really can win a match by himself - fantastic signing by Man U. I don't think they have a choice but to make all those changes to be honest.

Despite my despondent side thinking we'll fail to pick up another point this season, there is a part of me that believes we'll draw this, lose to Chelsea, and will need a win against Spurs on the final day to secure top 4. Good grief, this is an agonizing end to the season. It's the hope that kills you.
