I think a pacey skilful player is vital, players who can beat players draw players towards them which creates the space.

We only have to look at our side now without Barnes, it’s sideways passing with very little creativity because the options are just not there.

make no mistake, this would be an unreal signing. basically the exact player we need.

To be honest the only thing that could be against this guy is the price. He will move I'm sure but whether it develops into an auction we will have to see.

The lad looks like a real talent!

I’m just hoping West Brom don’t price him out of a move like Bournemouth did with David Brooks last year (thought that seems to have turned out to be a blessing)

...so long as we do not get drawn into a price war, we just need to hold our nerve!!!

If he wants to leave he will chose where he wants to go, he could choose a club with a lesser bid, United has done that enough times against Arsenal who outbid them but the player chose to  go to United.

Has a relegation release clause

I’ve seen differing reports on this.. Telegraph, for one, say there’s no release clause, but a lot of the players have relegation wage cuts written into their contracts.

So could potentially be in a better financial position, albeit with a lot of very unhappy footballers

If we can get him for £15m, that's a great price

West Brom fans saying if Buendia is worth 30 million then Pereira should be 40 million ,so I guess that rules us out.

It’s a good job WBA fans have nothing to do with the deal then.

It would be interesting to know what we might have bid for Buendia. My guess is about 20 million.

Depends on the players contract I guess and what was agreed when he signed. You'd imagine MP's fee would be high though as he only signed last summer. Could be he has a release clause though or a gentleman's agreement.

...should be an interesting contest for his signature, West Ham alluded to be in the picture!!!

It would think £25-30m should be enough to pick him up.

They have a point based on that ludicrous fee tbh.

Just shows you how fees can be inflated when a team pays well over the odds for a player with no premiership experience. Of course he may turn out to be worth it, we shall see.

What about the season he spent in the Premier League?

He didn't score a goal....his stats looked decent-ish but like 15m worth....not 40m.

Wasn't too keen on him initially, but he could definitely be a useful signing.

Slightly off-topic, has Leicester had a Brazilian before?

Have Villa actually paid £40m for a champ player? Can’t be that much surely!!

Would screw our chances getting this guy in at a reasonable price

He might have a relegation release clause, like Evans did when WBA got relegated last time round.
