It seems very similar to any other southgate game I've seen tbh.

You can chalk it up to it being a friendly if you want but I doubt we will see much difference.

Think that’s harsh given English players largely dominated the CL final and the latter stages of the tournament.
 

Similarly an English striker was the top goalscorer and top assist maker in the Premier League. We’ve had English players win competitions in Italy, Spain and Germany this season. 

Its a fair point, you often see English players as the passion and guile of a squad, but it's refreshing to see the likes of Grealish, Mount, Foden etc.

 

Its a shame all those 3 won't start and we'll see out of form Sterling and Rashford instead.

I'd go Ward Prowse. We are light in central midfield and set pieces might be our route back into games late on.

I think it will be Lingard. He was very unlucky to miss out in the first place - his form for West Ham in the 2nd half of the season merited a place and he proved he can deliver in international tournaments during the last World Cup. I think Southgate will go for him over somebody untested like Ward-Prowse, White or Watkins.

Lingard isn't a defender though, he may be the most deserving but he wasn't picked due to the various ACM's that Southgate has picked. We look light on strikers and centre halves IMO.

 

Tomori not being in the initial 33 is staggering too.

Southgate must be relived inside if TAA is crocked, means he doesn't have 5o bat away questions about why he isn't playing him, bet it hurt he had to pick him in the first place. Don't get what he's got against the lad, this season; first half especially he wasn't at it, but he was one of if not the best rb in world football before that and barely got a sniff at international level. Often a case of better the devil you know but I really can not wait until Southgate is replaced.
