Corky Posted 3 July 2021 Posted 3 July 2021 "Struggled for game time last season". He played 42 matches. Rodgers clearly values him, don't see this happening. 4
Mark_w Posted 3 July 2021 Posted 3 July 2021 Would be a mistake to let him go, but not surprised Burnley are interested, he'd really suit them. 3
jeffschlupp Posted 3 July 2021 Posted 3 July 2021 Even if 3-4-1-2 were to (inexplicably) be the plan next season, you need the option to have wingers. Barnes, a new signing and then Pérez and Sowah is not quite enough for me. Albrighton still has a part to play for us. With a year left we'd hardly get anything for him either. Keep at least for this season 1
Finnegan Posted 3 July 2021 Posted 3 July 2021 We've not even bought any wingers yet, we clearly can't sell any. 2
Mike Oxlong Posted 3 July 2021 Posted 3 July 2021 Legend and still a useful player to have in our squad No deal 2
Wolfox Posted 3 July 2021 Posted 3 July 2021 Just now, Babylon said: £40m and you can have him. £80m and they can still fook off
Mike Oxlong Posted 3 July 2021 Posted 3 July 2021 I’d be delighted if we sold Mark Albrighton for a million or so 2
FoxinNotts Posted 3 July 2021 Posted 3 July 2021 Swap deals are the future Sean. You can have; Benkovic, Sharky and 10m squid for Tarkowski
blueharmie Posted 3 July 2021 Posted 3 July 2021 (edited) No way we sell him unless he really wants game time. He has two trophies and CL qaurters and I love his roman nose. Edited 3 July 2021 by blueharmie
Guest Posted 3 July 2021 Posted 3 July 2021 Unless he's absolutely desperate to leave, which I don't imagine he is, I cannot see what the point in selling him would be. We need more depth on the wings, not less, and we're not going to be pulling in a big fee for a 31-year-old who's out of contract in the summer. They're welcome to his brother Mark though, obviously.
Popular Post baldeagle Posted 3 July 2021 Popular Post Posted 3 July 2021 Nah he’ll retire here I reckon . Just as you think he’s past it and no longer any use he proves everyone wrong with a few blinding games . 7
st albans fox Posted 3 July 2021 Posted 3 July 2021 the fact is that Burnley are likely to offer him a longer deal than we are. he will suit their style big time this is a decision that needs to be head, not heart unless it’s strongly in our interest to take the deal then its a no go for us but we should certainly consider what they want to offer. 1
LestaLad Posted 3 July 2021 Posted 3 July 2021 (edited) Not worth selling him, we wouldn’t even get enough to warrant it. Edited 3 July 2021 by LestaLad
GingerrrFox Posted 3 July 2021 Posted 3 July 2021 He only leaves if he wants to. He’s far too reliable in a number of positions for the club to actively shop him. Depends on whether he wants to be a regular starter still or if he’s happy with being an important squad player in a team challenging for silverware.
