mozartfox Posted 18 July 2021 Posted 18 July 2021 Hopefully this is just a case of the breeze inflating the training vest...... 1
norwichfox Posted 20 July 2021 Posted 20 July 2021 Not sure that walking all over the croquet lawn will go down well with the owners...

StriderHiryu Posted 4 August 2021 Posted 4 August 2021 No one was excited by this signing but I’m getting serious Christian Fuchs vibes from Bertrand. Has slotted in seamlessly into the team, good at both ends and can deliver a great set piece. Outstanding business and having him and Thomas till JJ gets back is excellent squad depth. 3

Jonezy Posted 4 August 2021 Posted 4 August 2021 Never realised he was a set piece specialist. Fantastic performance before everything went to shit. 1
Blanchflower78 Posted 4 August 2021 Posted 4 August 2021 Thought he looked very competent tonight and more than good enough to step in. Great home debut
Kierzz Posted 4 August 2021 Posted 4 August 2021 Best true left back at the club. Will be first choice over Thomas 2
adejo92 Posted 4 August 2021 Posted 4 August 2021 Thought he played very well. Great composure and vision when needed but also more than happy to kick it out of play to be safe. I don't think Bertrand will ever do much that's stand out amazing, but i think he will be a solid, no nonsense and reliable player and a great addition to strengthen out squad.
copunk Posted 4 August 2021 Posted 4 August 2021 Played very well tonight, cracking 2 assists and defended brilliantly, his set pieces were superb, felt nice to actually get excited when we got a corner
Dan Posted 4 August 2021 Posted 4 August 2021 His delivery is quality. That was a weapon I wasn't expecting with this signing. 1
Lesta2014 Posted 5 August 2021 Posted 5 August 2021 With 2 of 3 first choice central defenders missing his experience is vital whilst we steady the ship at the back. Will start a fair few games for us in the premier league with him maybe getting a rest in carabao and the weaker Europa opponents. Thomas will start if we play wing backs as Bertrand would go left cb I’d guess? impressed me last night, no thrills kept it simple, 2 assists, solid defensively and a threat going forward. What you want from a left back is the mix of defending and attacking being right, perfect balance from him last night.
Popular Post StriderHiryu Posted 5 August 2021 Popular Post Posted 5 August 2021 Good interview with Ryan. He says one of his roles is to play slightly deeper and act as the spare man when they have 3 at the back to help build up play and get the team going. This is important to note, the way we play in our 4231 it's rare that both fullbacks go at the same time; our attacking shape is somewhat of a 325 and of the two fullbacks Ricardo is the one that is usually given more licence to roam forwards because he's superb at doing that. So *don't* expect Bertrand (or Thomas) to support the attack as often as Ricardo. If Bertrand goes, Riccy will stay back, if they both go then Ndidi will drop back into the middle 3. That means on the turnover we have bodies back to make a challenge. All that said it was notable that Bertrand definitely got forwards a few times, as he has done in all of our games. I think the way we play suits him, he is not asked to bomb on all the time, but he can pick and choose moments to do so, and he has the quality to make a difference when that happens. Finally his set piece delivery was very good. Wouldn't surprise me if we a get a few more goals this season from Bertrand corners and free-kicks. 12

I’ve noticed in all the games he’s played he’s been barking orders and encouraging some of the younger players . His experience looks like it’s going to be very good for the club 8
