There's no one single player that sorts out our collective defensive mess.

 

We need our manager to give his head a wobble and swallow his pride, possibly bring in a new specialised coach if he can't do it or he is sacked. Don't sign him any more players until he shows an action plan on how he sorts this out.

Issue is does he leave a specialist coach alone to do the work or would they have to work around his ideas

Good question. He needs to swallow his pride and admit he has failed to rectify a glaring issue that is undoing all his previous good work here. Focus on what he is good at which is the attack side of things.

I would want a few brickies to build a wall round our box to help us properly defend crosses, corners etc.  

As a manager I would like Mancini, to put a few rockets up backsides. If he did I don't see him lasting long with us. Hopefully longer than the 4 games he played under Peter Taylor. 

As a player I would like Tarkowski, a proper defender. Without a decent defence , we are going nowhere. JJ and Fofana will not be able to help us much this season post serious injuries.

Since winning the Premier League, we've made two permanent January signings - Ndidi and Diabate, both before Rodgers arrived. 

 

Let's be honest, we aren't signing anyone. The thread is pointless, it's not even worth having having the subforum open in January anymore. 

 

Most we're likely to do is an emergency loan with AFCON in mind.
