C Palace v Leicester(pre- match thread) 2.00 Oct 3rd

Watching Palace against Brighton you could tell they are a work in progress; however what impressed me about them the most was their pressing game. The midfield trio of Milivojevic, McArthur and Gallagher were on Brighton like a flash especially in the first half. A lot of their better play came from down the right, mainly through Gallagher making runs from deep, allowing Palace to create 3 on 2 scenarios down the right. With the way our defence is, I wouldn’t be surprised if Soyuncu and whoever plays LB will keep on getting pulled out of position.

If we don’t match Palace in terms of aggression, then I fully expect a comfortable Palace win.

I’m sick of hearing you can’t play 442 anymore. It’s simple and effective. Get the ball forward and none of this sideways passing and playing out from the back. Give up possession and go try and smash them on the break.

Also every goal-kick hit towards the halfway line and actually try and win a header rather then crap out to the wing that always sails over someone’s head and out for a throw in.

Leicester City hit with Wilfred Ndidi injury blow ahead of Crystal Palace clash
The defensive midfielder missed the midweek trip to Legia Warsaw with suspension but is now a doubt for the return to Premier League action at Selhurst Park on Sunday

Wilfred Ndidi is a “big doubt” for Leicester City’s trip to Crystal Palace on Sunday after tweaking his hamstring.

The defensive midfielder has been left out of the Nigeria squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifying double header against the Central African Republic because of the injury, and Brendan Rodgers admitted it could see him miss out on the fixture at Selhurst Park.

Ndidi did not travel to Legia Warsaw with the rest of his team-mates as he was suspended for the game, which was the first City match he had missed since February, starting in a run of 30 fixtures before then.

“Obviously he couldn't play tonight but he had a bit of an issue at the beginning of the Burnley game so he's a big doubt for the weekend,” Rodgers confirmed. “He’s felt a little bit in his hamstring.”

City played without a defensive midfielder on Thursday night, instead opting for a back three, and with Youri Tielemans ahead of them as the pivot in the centre of the park.

If Rodgers reverts to a back four, Boubakary Soumare could take on the Ndidi role, as the manager hinted ahead of the game in Warsaw.

“It’s impossible to find what we have,” Rodgers said of Ndidi’s absence before the clash with Legia. “We’ve got good players, but specifically the job he does in breaking up play and just his overall defending and in the box, he’s irreplaceable for us.

“We have a number of other good players, we just need to find a different way. That’s also part of the point, as I said earlier in the season, for bringing Soumare into the squad, because he gives us that physicality. But Wilf’s a really unique and fabulous player.”

City also have Jonny Evans as a doubt for the weekend with the centre-back kept out of the midweek game with illness. Wesley Fofana and James Justin also remain out with long-term injuries.

However, Kelechi Iheanacho is back in contention after he missed out in midweek following an issue with his documents at the Polish border.

Rodgers said on his striker: "He flew back. He'll be fresh and ready for the weekend."

As we were strongly linked to Edouard for 2 years or whatever it was, I'd say he's almost certain to score. Sclupp assist.

Its based on nothing logical at all but Edouard, Zaha, Schlupp and Benteke all have increased chances of scoring against us than most other teams they will play. And that's without our defence being a total shambles currently. Will be an absolute miracle if we keep a clean sheet.

If we can't go to Crystal Palace without Ndidi and get a result, we've got no chance have we  Defence has been pretty rubbish with him protecting it anyway so far.

Can't go with a back 3 against Palace, their biggest threat is down the wings and they'll get in all the time. Unless wing backs stay as full backs but they never do.

Hoping we can actually get Evans on the pitch but who knows! Sounds like Wilf is going to be out as well. In which case if Evans is absent then I’d take a point now. I just don’t know what to expect from us at present but I’ll be backing them all the way Sunday

Just want us to be as basic as a blonde with hair extensions, driving a Fiat 500 terribly, whilst chatting on her Rose Gold iPhone to her friends Isobel and Charlotte, about their upcoming night out at 'that bar with the flower wall for insta'

This would suit me.

Agree about wing backs and full backs.

Ricardo needs a good game against Zaha.

We need to be streetwise against this Palace team. Especially Zaha. Push him around a bit and look for a reaction. He'll bite at one point.

Oh and also score more than them. That's also quite important.
