I know the fans were bad today and the team was awful and Brendan got pretty much everything wrong but this little ref today was shocking. Surprised there isn’t a thread on him already.

tbf its expected now for me, once again another honking performance from a ref and nothing is done, no accountability for them, he'll get another game next week,

seems like the only job in the world were you can do crap and not even get told

We have had poor refereeing in most of our games. My son pointed out it started in preseason when the player who broke fofana's leg was let off!

Man u, arsenal, Brighton, today.... absolutely scandalous.

Honestly thought he was alright relative to the low standards we now have in the PL. Definitely seemed to favour Chelsea a bit more though.

It was refreshing to see someone booked for time wasting with more than 30 seconds to go.

My Chelsea-supporting mate in their end thought I was having a laugh at half time when I messaged him saying it doesn't help when the ref has a Chelsea top on...

The booking for Evans was a disgrace. It was a perfect challenge.

I think the referees performance enhanced the boos at half time. I booed the ref off, not the team.

To be fair, the couple of times I was  effing and jeffing at the tv, they replayed it and the ref was actually correct (the willy puller)

You mean the replays where there is the tiniest bit of contact and they fall over. Refs have thankfully been cracking down on this going down easy crap all season but this little wimp blew every time we got close to them. Shocking ref but he wasn’t the reason why we was so dire tonight.

It was not a perfect tackle and I'm amazed so many people thought it was. Went straight through the man to get the ball.

Alas in the second half he had the same tackle on him with Havertz. No yellow

Maybe but we have to be smarter than we are

Matt Piper said the referee was good so it shows how people see the game( I'd say with blue tinted spectacles on!).

The only thing he got right was refusing to let Chilwell con him yet again in the second half when he flung himself to the floor like a toddler having a tantrum.  Chilwell should have been book however, for simulation.

I feel like any anger towards the ref will deflect attention away from our own shocking performance.  If we change what we are doing the points will come..

Evans didn’t even contest it - was a clear yellow given where it occurred

he was fussy and keen to whistle but he had no bearing on how crap we were

Thats how I saw it too. Moaned a few times, then saw the replay and had to accept it.
