Typical FT post.

Cheers. Something tells me from your negative tone that you don't like negative tones and wish they'd be done with?

Vardy scored. Maddison played well. Their defender ducked under the ball for no reason. We had five techniques (blowers, large sweepers, brooms, shovels, sprinklers) on show to clear the snow.

Other than that, it was only a bit of snow, but I haven’t got a clue what happened for most of the game!

Our defensive problems are mainly down to our midfield than the actual defence. Ndidi has been honking and that leaves a huge hole in the middle of the park which every team seems to be exploiting. Soumare has had some decent games but the defensive side of his game needs serious work.

One or two good performances today. Maddison had his best game for a long time, Vardy was a handful and Thomas looked good. Schmeichels distribution was a bit iffy and the defence always looks like a disaster about to happen.

Timmy got caught out for their goal. Dennis got his foot to the ball first and Timmy kicked the back of his heel before going over. Correct decision 😭

Good three points and pleased to see Claudio get such a good reception back at the KP.

Very satisfying result. Much better performance all 'round - attack and defence were pretty good, especially considering the conditions. Wilf was a bit silly to giveaway the penalty and Castagne got tripped for their goal. Could have conceded more but we kept fighting. That attitude and endeavour, for me, is key to our success.

Also, lots of forward balls and attempts to play vertically again. Very pleasing indeed. It's a good (re)start!

I found the punting forward a bit annoying to be honest with you. However, we were also sh1t at playing it out from the back today, Evans and kasper both really struggled with it so I can understand why we choose to boot it.

Agreed. Ndidi and Soumare don’t dovetail as a pair, and the disconnect between them hampers the whole shape and organisation of the defence.

Ndidi clearly prefers playing as the sole defensive midfielder, while Soumare - well I’m not sure what he adds to the team or even whether he knows what he is supposed to add. He is not a defensive midfielder, nor an attacking midfielder, nor - as we were led to believe - a powerhouse box to box midfielder. He had that one excellent game at Spartak but alas that appears to have been a flash in the pan.

I dont think you can play a passing game in those conditions. Also, surely this shows a plan b that works against certain opponents?

When we found the cracks in their midfield and rushed into them, our efforts were intrepid, barnstorming, and exciting.

They deserve some credit for frustrating us at the back. Watford have a real player in Dennis - if they'd had Sarr on the pitch as well, we would have been in even more trouble.

Some proper ****** in their lot singing about Vardy being a sex offender before the game outside

Heard this. Just brushed it off as young lads. Some old LCFC fan decided to confront them which was odd. Exactly what they’d hope for. He was probably lucky the police were there

They started singing it about 10 seconds before he got his first goal. Poetic.

They had some real oddballs in that away end.

Lets hope they turn up next week. That's all Vardy needs to inspire himself.

When are opposition Fans going to learn you don't mess with Vardy, Otherwise he'll score a couple against you.

A fair amount of our lot were singing it about Zaha at Palace. It's just a popular generic shit song right now. Every time I heard something that made me cringe on the walk to the ground I was relieved to see they were wearing yellow scarves.

Being close to Watford geographically, I can say with some authority that - while every club has their drongos - Watford has some of the most weirdest degenerates among their following I've ever witnessed.

Odd bunch.

First and foremost, we got the win and that is really all that matters. It takes a lot of pressure off us because we could have found ourselves looking over our shoulder shortly had we lost that game.

I will discuss the performance as is the spirit of this forum...I will be fair and say that we can't judge the second half performance because the conditions made the whole thing somewhat farcical. I think for the first 35 minutes we were again very poor. In general play we were no better than them for that period. We only found ourselves 1-0 up because of the worst piece of defending I've seen in the topflight in years and JM taking his goal well. After that they were better team for quite a while and when it got to 1-1 I really thought it was only a matter of time before we found ourselves trailing. We got it to 2-1 and then quickly 3-1 because of flashes of individual quality more so than our overall team play. In fact that was essentially the difference between the two sides, as they had a decent number of of chances in the first half. When we got to 3-1 we looked better with the ball and started moving it much better up until half-time.

Happy with the win, but the period of the fame that is fair to judge really wasn't that convincing.
