If available then Amartey in for Soyuncu please, Callum Wilson has Soyuncu on strings

I thought he was 'ill'? Is he likely to make a miraculous recovery and be fit to play or is he just feeling a bit unvaccinated?

Attend this game knowing what's going to happen or watch the  F1 shoot out on channel 4???

I'm not even a F1 fan and the F1 sounds more appealing.

Newcastle will be licking their lips. It’s going to be a horrible afternoon I can feel it already. The crowd will turn in an instant, if things aren’t going well.

Cor, I thought I was pessimistic lol

The main thing against us is that our players are going to be shattered, we're still comfortably better than these and that has been enough for us to pick up results this season. Not expecting a great performance but expect we will win this.

I'm always glass half full, things are getting really toxic and concerning though.

When I'm not looking forward to going down on Sunday and I'm  actually hoping for an Omicron intervention that is sad beyond words.

That weird post match presser and previous comments from BR have stunned me, truly sad 😔

Given the schedule we've had, I feel we have to make as many changes as possible to try and inject energy. Our defensive options are incredibly limited, but if either Amartey or Vestergaard are fit, they should replace Caglar. Luke back for Bertrand, as he's now had a week off.

Patson up front instead of Vards. Albrighton to start, again simply because he should have bags of energy. Soumare or Hamza instead of Wilf. Not a lot else we can do given we're not sure how many are out with Covid.

Would be darn helpful if JJ and Ricky P were available within the next couple of weeks. Chestnuts could do with a rest for sure. I hope KDH keeps his place. He's hardly played any matches all season, so should be as fresh as anyone, and I like the drive he gives the team. Not to mention his willingness to take a shot. In what's been a pretty miserable few weeks for us, his goal last night was a rare moment of joy.

Are we comfortably better?? Based on what? We both concede a hatful, if they beat us (highly possible) they will only be a couple of wins behind us in the league. We are in no position to claim we are better than anyone right now. We have better players but nearly all of them are badly out of form or injured.

Newcastle to win easily

sadly Rodgers out

And time to give the new man time to access the squad before the transfer window, then he can hire and fire

Man for man our players are more talented, though they're not playing to their best and haven't been for almost a calendar year now, bar one or two anomolies. Us having better players and luck is the reason we've picked up points this season and I'm fairly sure it'll be why we pick up points on Sunday.

I'm 3 for 3 in December. No one can convince me i'm not going 4 for 4 in my predictions :D

I do want to say BUT COVID

It's come at the worst time for us. If we had a full strength (barring injuries) and lost then I'd absolutely think about booting him but I can't hold it against Brendan that we've got 4-5 actually useful squad members out, during the horrific run of games.

I will hate watching us lose on Sunday and if we win it's a minor miracle, but I will take the covid factor into account.

But only Amartey and Nacho are actually useful? Having Vestergard, perez and Lookman unavailable is a plus given the evidence of their careers here.
