Getting proper old-school Mourinho'ed here. Bus parked and getting away with all the dark arts, scoring their only sniff at goal. How the flip do Ibanez and Smalling get away from those tackles with no yellow?

We can still do this, but we need something special and Kevin needs to get a grip on the right side.

If Barnes is not in Terrible Harvey mode, he'll be all over this lot.

Im thinking the perfect player against these i just rodgers does it at half time not 70 minutes Albrighton just aint good enough anymore

Roma fouling. A lot. Dirty bleddy foreigners like Smalling and Abraham...

For once, I'm with Jenas - the Ref is not being consistent and it is having an effect on the game.

Kasper has has not much to do but pick it out.

Come on lads.  :scarf:

What a dirty lot roma are

Nope.

They know that we are weak and can be bullied. They benefit from a ref who seems to be (at best) incompetent. The more we whine about it the more they win. Needs some studs first retaliation...but Brendan will opt to protect Jose's 0-1 lead.

Not great.  We've had more of the ball but roma have let us because they know we don't fook all with it

I agree.  People say we've been attacking and the best side but as soon as Roma scored they sat back and let us attack, and the fact we've done nothing with that opportunity then its hard to praise them too much.

If we do get an equalizer it'll be interesting to see if the dynamics change.

To be fair this isnt like say Newcastle away where we did dicked around with it with no intent. We are creating space and chances in the final third.

Dominating without looking like scoring. Roma keep putting in a little foul everytime we start building up momentum, a bit more streetwise than us.

Albrighton looks out of his depth but the strength of him is his crossing.

Kdh and fofana looking quality. Lookman surprisingly doing well.

Maddison needs to put his shooting boots on at half time, he will make the difference here.

We are missing Mendy. I feel our midfield has been dampened somewhat without Mendy.

Strangely, I feel we are also missing Nacho.

We are really missing Mendy. Tielemans can’t play that role.

As much as I like Vardy, we need Nacho on to bring other players in.

We also need Perez on at some stage instead of Albrighton - or Barnes and switch with Lookman.

I said to my brother in law this morning that I thought nacho should start,  and I don't think I was wrong, this is a game I think he'd do well in, love vards but he needs some game time first.

Actually think we've played really well here. Better side by a distance imho.

Yep but you're just constantly worried about getting done on the counter as we're not robust or smart enough to stop those instances materialising.

Roma cutting off passing lanes very well especially in the middle of the park. We have been a bit too slow when possession turns over, too much jogging, Roma able to get their shape back.

Not a terrible half in general but defending for the goal was disappointing. Also a bit confused about the lack of yellow cards for Roma, many deliberate fouls. Jermaine Jenas slightly less insufferable than usual.

If the ref carries on like this second half I’d be expecting the club to lodge some sort of complaint. I’ve counted 4 professional fouls stopping attacks or counter attacks, with no booking. Ibanez off the ball assaulting Ricardo too. Sickening.

We are so poor at creating chances.
