This is typical city atm, we look great playing the ball around but there is simply no finish, no killer ball and we create no chances, Vards looks understandably off the pace but we've stopped playing to his strengths it appears, he'll be subbed  about 65 minutes in and then who's gonna score? Frustrating again and l have no faith that BR will go for the equaliser by putting 2 up front much less go for a win. ☹️

1st half we have been good, but I think we’ve been done by Mourinhos tactics

They’re keeping players behind the ball and leaving no space in behind.
2 weeks ago MOTD highlighted our narrow defence. Roma have a player on the touch line every time they have the ball. The switch of. Ball to the LWB was what created their goal.
Tielemans is being marked and not given any space, but he is not picking up his man defensively

Refwatch, How come they are fouling 3 times more than we are (and jumping in) and we are level on bookings?

We need Nacho on for this game. Vardy is not getting a sniff. Instead, we need Nacho on who is better at coming deep, hold the ball up and bring other players like Madders and Lookman in. With Nacho coming in deep, he can draw their CBs out and so may create space for the others. Playing Vardy, who is not 100% fit, is a tactical error but one that can be fixed still in the second half but will Brendan do it?

Undone by a simple but well worked goal, running at us with pace and accurate passing. We're getting in and around their box but always one too many passes, and most of our chances Ltd to Madders trying to curl one in the postage stamp.

Hope BR has the answers second half

Oh and the ref has been awful.

I wonder if a creative right sided player the quality of lookman on the left would just push us to that next level, because we're always on the left. We have Albrighton and perez, Albrighton not doing much other than his corners, we put perez on and he has a stinker, we've lost the threat from corners.

So, trying to play the patient build up against a defensive manager like Mourinho who will just have his team sit in and close all gaps... No wonder it's not working, you open this sort of side up with quick tempo play.

Persisting with Youri as a DM is insanity. It just doesn’t work.

I was thinking before that one of the league games probably would have been worth testing out of the centre backs like Fofana in defensive mid. If it didnt work then move on, too late now though.

Albrighton looks out of his depth but the strength of him is his crossing.

Kdh and fofana looking quality. Lookman surprisingly doing well.

Maddison needs to put his shooting boots on at half time, he will make the difference here.

As he just demonstrated... If Lookman had a brain he'd have cut inside the defender and tapped it in.
