I've been waffling on about him all year, he's mustard.

You did say that Daka will become one of the best strikers in the world, pre us signing him. Has some way to go but hope you were right. :)

Hahaha I said within 18 months so he's got to have some first half of next season 😂

Only watched that clip on YouTube but like his movement once he’s passed it. Youri can be quite static and that’s why it’s often bounced back to youri, this guy moves when played and helps progress and play through the lines! What’s he going to cost?

Ffs.. Please no. Just hope we are one of the clubs exploring a move.

while we're politely waiting for Youri to make his mind up we're missing out on potential replacements who we've been linked with for some time.

I don't think we are waiting for Youri to make up his mind: I think the club is working on the assumption that he is leaving. It is not a Danny Drinkwater situation, where he tried to push a move in the final week of the window. Fact is, we are losing Youri this summer or next, barring European football. We aren't going to delay signing his replacement if we find a good fit: If Youri stays, it just gives him a year to bed in.

Yeah, if we somehow have the season of our lives (well, not "the" season of our lives), and end up Top 4, and Youri signs a new deal, we'd need the second midfielder anyway.

Where does it say anything about us ?

Well it was just an attempt at poorly executed humour actually.

But, as you’ve asked, first page of the thread

He's the obvious choice. Plays a little like Tielemans but quicker, got that excellent eye for a forward pass and for a player aged 21 has played a lot of football already.

£15m is a bargain, surely he'd cost more than that.

He's super consistent for a 21 year old

....the pointers have been, that it is the wages bill we are attempting to overcome!!!

Signing another midfielder with Youri still on the books is not going to help our position. Your assumption that the club believes Youri is going to stay, with no actual indication of what he intends to do, only points to us indulging him and the club not knowing where to turn.

The combination of limited finance and excess wages, does not give the impression that we can afford to stockpile and have people in place, a season before they would be needed.

And the current 25 man squad is full.

Where do West Ham get all their money? They’re being linked with Broja for £30m after signing Aguerd yday for £30m. Surely they can’t get all of these?

This only seems likely if we've identified a cheap replacement.

We have lots of holes that need filling right now, and finding a non-cheap replacement for Youri if he's actually staying would be a luxury we probably can't afford. It might hinge on what happens with Soumaré, but I would have thought the club would want to be fairly certain whether Youri will be playing for us next year before they make a move.

their new shareholders are minted and want to invest. their FFP situation is also quite good due to a much lower wage bill than ours
