Better if he stays for us. If this is our last chance to sell before his contract runs out, then sure, but to be honest I think Inter won't be having an easy time offloading Dumfries for enough money to make buying Castagne worth it

...it is amazing how players come here and are revered and in no time, we look to get them unceremoniously slung out the door and left in a heap!!!

Players have so regressed at this club, it has become the best thing that could happen to them to get out of here. We all want the best for our club, and the players that make up our team we want to do well. I would rather see players streaming out the door for the sake of their careers than spend a second too long in an environment that only appears to chip away and undermine their talents and well-being.

Castagne has been a great servant to this club, he came here to take up a position and stay there, but he looks to be leaving with most people not knowing where his best position is, because we had no idea what we needed to do, as we switched him all over the place.

I hope he goes, gets in a team that allows him to play, in the position that he wants and start enjoying the game again.

We have managed to suck the life out of too many players, they do not deserve this.

Fofana, Maguire, Drinkwater, Mahrez, Kante, Vardy, Maddison, Evans, Albrighton, Tielemans etc beg to differ

Not every signing works and it’ll happen to every club.

Look at Grealish for example. Hardly set the world alight at Manchester City,

On Castagne, he’s average. Overrated, like the Belgium national team in general. He’s part of a failing defence and it’s showed at time. He’s been consistent but being part of unit that is consistently poor, doesn’t justify keeping him.

If we won’t sign, like other have said, we sell.

If we can shift him for 20-25 million and bring in a young talent like Kristiansen with a similar attitude  for half the the money then i'd be well up for that

I really thought we would have sold him in the Summer.  It's not worth the risk after his bad injury with his busted eye socket.

That makes it risky in going for headers, But to his credit he hasn't backed out of them.

If we can get 20 million for him and find another JJ or Kristiansen.

He's a 6.5/10

So are most full backs most weeks, let's be fair. Boringly consistent.

It's only the last two or three seasons of TAA, Robertson, Kyle Walker & Cancelo that have got people expecting higher levels. Go back down the years with the Nevilles, Dixon & Winterburn etc rarely more than a 7/10, it's the least eventful position on the pitch.

Interestingly, The Mirror are now reporting that Leicester's Timothy Castagne is one name that has emerged as a potential target for the Gunners.

The Belgian has been among the Foxes' most consistent players since moving to The King Power Stadium from Atalanta but with Leicester at risk of relegation - he could be available on the cheap this summer.

Arsenal are in need of some additional cover at right-back after losing Takehiro Tomiyasu to a knee injury against Sporting.

Have Arsenal not been watching us at all?! Castagne is crap

Cedric Soares from Southampton was an even more bizarre Arsenal signing 3yrs ago, wouldn't put it past them.

Like , Chilwell , a better attacker than defender. More suited to wing back which most on here hate as they are welded to "wingers" and one up front. I get the feeling though that Deano may play him there for the final three matches.

How long is tomiyasu out for ?
I believe that arsenal want tomiyasu covering CB rather than RB

I would also be surprised if they have any interest whatsoever in Castagne

Consistent. Yes if by that they mean consistently crap. Jeez these rags publish some absolute rubbish.

The amount of players who will probably get decent moves and then start playing well again makes our situation even more depressing.

I've generally liked Castagne but he's been rubbish recently.
