The experienced defender has a key figure for Leicester City in the Premier League. Despite the Foxes warding interest, Beşiktaş are ready to offer the 29-year-old centre-back 2 million euros annually, Footballghana.com understands. Amartey is currently with his Leicester City teammates for pre-season ahead of the new Premier League season. In 2016, he opened a new page in his career by joining the Leicester City team for a transfer fee of 6.6 million euros. The experienced football player played for the Ghana national team 41 times. Amartey is expected to make Ghana's squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar later this year. 2

st albans fox Posted 18 July 2022 Posted 18 July 2022 OUT ? Would be a surprise to be signing his brother ……. 1
Webbo Posted 18 July 2022 Posted 18 July 2022 2 million euros a year is 40k a week. Surely he's on more than that now?
escape2victory Posted 18 July 2022 Posted 18 July 2022 Happy to get rid of Amartey, Soyuncu and Vestergaard and bring in 2 CBs 1

CrazyKopCorner Posted 18 July 2022 Posted 18 July 2022 He's a good lad and character but if you're aiming for Top 6 he's no where near good enough
scinnell Posted 18 July 2022 Posted 18 July 2022 (edited) Just cut our losses, especially if we paid such a low fee for him previously. A nice lad yes, but has many errors in him a season and hardly fills you with confidence. Make space for Colwill ASAP. Edited 18 July 2022 by scinnell
Popular Post davieG Posted 18 July 2022 Popular Post Posted 18 July 2022 I'll wait to see the quality of his replacement, someone who'll be willing to play the odd game before being happy that he's gone. 15

According to the Brendan Rodgers thread in the main forum, he's on £57k per week. So they'd need to persuade him to take a pay cut. The same goes with most of the players we'd like to get rid of. Nobody will pay them the same as we are. So unless they're happy to take a pay cut for first team football, we're stuck with them. I should also add that I'd personally prefer we got rid of several other players ahead of Amartey. He seems happy to be a squad player and has come in and made a contribution on more than one occasion. Edited 18 July 2022 by ClaphamFox 10
JimJams Posted 18 July 2022 Posted 18 July 2022 People seem to be forgetting that he actually has to want to go as well.
FoxinNotts Posted 18 July 2022 Posted 18 July 2022 Not sure why it's being talked about that this is going to happen. Can't see it myself

sdb Posted 18 July 2022 Posted 18 July 2022 I know there have been a few (very widely discussed) exceptions, but we generally lose players at such ridiculously low prices. I feel like 90% of PL clubs would sell a player like DA for about £9m, if not more.

Ric Flair Posted 18 July 2022 Posted 18 July 2022 I could see this happening, they've long had an interest in him and he won't be on stupid money here.
filbertway Posted 18 July 2022 Posted 18 July 2022 Do we only have contacts with Turkish agents? It's so weird that it's mainly Turkish teams seem to be interested in our squad.
Popular Post Stadt Posted 18 July 2022 Popular Post Posted 18 July 2022 If we sold him and the fee part funded getting Colwill in then I'd be open to it - otherwise absolutely not. Not hard to imagine we sold Amartey for a pittance, we don't sign a replacement and all of a sudden Vestergaard becomes third or fourth choice. 5 1
Foxxed Posted 18 July 2022 Posted 18 July 2022 It'll be utterly stupid if we can't adequately replace him in this transfer window.
