Popular Post Sly Posted 8 July 2023 Popular Post Posted 8 July 2023 He’s an English Robben. He isn’t fancy, won’t don’t step overs and tricks. He causes havoc though with his direct running and shooting when cutting inside. He’s put up better goals / assist numbers than most English forwards. He qualifies as homegrown so ticks a box for European competitions. Why on Earth is this fee to low with 2 years left? Surely we can demand this in January still if it’s evident we aren’t getting promoted? 5
Lcfc-1992 Posted 8 July 2023 Posted 8 July 2023 Hopefully we’ve got somebody lined up as a replacement 1

So we just need a CB, Keeper, Creative Midfielder, Right Winger, Left Winger and another player who can play in the advanced position on both sides on rotation.

Sunbury Fox Posted 8 July 2023 Posted 8 July 2023 The fee seems very low for a player with his numbers and PL experience. Newcastle paid more for Anthony Gordon FFS! Yes, some will say it's because we're now in the Championship but didn't Watford manage to get around £35m for Joao Pedro, who whilst promising has nowhere near the track record of Barnes? It looks like the club just wants deals done ASAP to fund the rebuild and get players in early, rather than holding out for more and then losing players at the end of the window, leaving us little time to get an adequate replacement eg Fofana/Faes. 1 1

fox_up_north Posted 8 July 2023 Posted 8 July 2023 The figure quoted is quite disappointing. Yes, we'll have a chunk of change after selling him and Maddison but I can't help feel we're about to watch our chances of promotion walk out the door.
Lad1966 Posted 8 July 2023 Posted 8 July 2023 35 million is too low to us to sell. I don’t believe this rumour is remotely true!

Finn Claw II Posted 8 July 2023 Posted 8 July 2023 The more clubs that are interested, the better the fee. Wasn’t Maddison more like £50m with add-ons? We should be aiming for similar. No percentage for another club like with Maddison either. He’s a £50m player. 2
LcFc_Smiv Posted 8 July 2023 Posted 8 July 2023 Very hard to judge a deal by the fee quoted when we have no idea of the add-ons and payment structure.
teblin Posted 8 July 2023 Posted 8 July 2023 If we were still in the top flight £50million might be something we could cling on for. But I think £35 million is about what to be expected. 1
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 8 July 2023 Posted 8 July 2023 I naively thought we might keep him for a season, but nevermind. £35m is cheap when you look at his numbers, and particularly when the same club paid £45(?) for Anthony Gordon.
foxfanazer Posted 8 July 2023 Posted 8 July 2023 Was slowly building some optimism back up for the new season. Silly me

sdb Posted 8 July 2023 Posted 8 July 2023 THIRTY FIVE MILLION??? That is a ****ing piss take if true.
frany104 Posted 8 July 2023 Posted 8 July 2023 £35 mill is embarrassing. Should be a minimum £45 mill plus add ons 4

Clarkey123 Posted 8 July 2023 Posted 8 July 2023 I’d be squeezing that extra £5million out of them for sure, because we will certainly get £40mil off one of the prem teams for him.
