moore_94 Posted 12 June 2023 Share Posted 12 June 2023 (edited) Apparently offered £2.5m for Blackpool striker Jerry Yates, they want £3-4m 26 year old striker who got 14 goals and 4 assists in the Championship even though they were relegated https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-leicester-city-make-move-to-sign-jerry-yates-after-2-5m-bid-submitted/ Sources: Leicester City make move to sign Jerry Yates after £2.5m bid submitted Leicester City are plotting a move to sign in-demand Blackpool striker Jerry Yates, sources have told Football Insider. The forward, 26, is a target for a number of clubs this summer following his impressive performances for Blackpool in the just-completed season. Now Leicester have registered their interest in Yates as they look to reinforce their front line. Blackpool are facing a battle to keep hold of their prize asset following their relegation from the Championship. It is believed they have already turned down a £2.5million bid for Yates as they hold out for their £3-4million valuation to be met. Leicester are in the market for striking reinforcements this summer with doubts surrounding the long-term futures of Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho. They see Yates as someone who help fire them to promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking. The former Rotherham striker was the outstanding performer for Blackpool last season, scoring 15 goals and providing six assists in all competitions despite Blackpool’s struggles at the wrong of the table. Leicester could face competition for his signature as Rangers watched Yates in action for Blackpool in their win against Preston North End last season, sources told Football Insider. StanSP Posted 12 June 2023 Share Posted 12 June 2023 I remember he had a purple patch last season scoring in quite a few games in a short space of time, but was largely quiet for the rest of the season? Popular Post Ric Flair Posted 12 June 2023 Popular Post Share Posted 12 June 2023 Haha I suggested him a few weeks ago. One of my good mates is a huge Blackpool fan so I've followed their players a bit more than other clubs and his style of play is a huge standout. He's very Vardyesque but without the world class finishing (yet). I'd definitely love him here as an option.

reynard Posted 12 June 2023 Share Posted 12 June 2023 Probably the level we need to consider as we need around 12 new players and have no money to speak of. Underwhelming but that is where we are now.
frany104 Posted 12 June 2023 Share Posted 12 June 2023 Why?! We don’t need any strikers at the minute. Surely at least one of Vardy, daka and iheanacho are staying?

Is the plan for the one who stays to play 90 minutes per game for 46 league games and at least 2 cup games as a lone striker and just hope they don't get injured and there's no situation that requires other options? Unless we keep two of them, only intend to play one up top and have faith in Hirst, we're going to need other options.

No, I get that but we’ve got other areas of the pitch with far more needs than striker at the minute. id have thought strikers would have been well down the list. Depends on whether we are expecting any of the ones we currently have to leave Honestly wouldn't be surprised if both Nacho and Daka leave meaning we are definitely going to need 1 or 2 new strikers in
