Not sure he is technically good enough for any ball these days tbh. I know he has played a role so far, but I think the Championship has flattered him slightly. Forest are getting a player on a serious decline, unless by miracle he returns to some kind of form after 2 years. Don’t forget the Rogers effect..
VLC86 Posted 27 August 2023 Posted 27 August 2023 Absolutely done, if we get a fee this is a very good deal for us.

dbtcity Posted 27 August 2023 Posted 27 August 2023 Hopefully means another creative box to box replaces him 🙏🏻 1

Devonfox1884 Posted 27 August 2023 Posted 27 August 2023 £10m and everyone is a winner. Well apart from Forest… and Wilf as he has to play for them. 1
FrankieADZ Posted 27 August 2023 Posted 27 August 2023 some of the quote tweets on it are funny asf, one from a Leeds fan saying "we are getting stronger and others and getting weaker and weaker"
dylanlegend Posted 27 August 2023 Posted 27 August 2023 Used in the right system Wilf is a top DM. Hasn’t been the same since his injury but before that he was one of the best in the league. 1
Maybes Posted 27 August 2023 Posted 27 August 2023 Well past his best before date. Selling perished goods to them is heart warming.

Sly Posted 27 August 2023 Posted 27 August 2023 He’s not the player he once was. He’s a destroyer that has lost his agility and can’t pass a ball consistently. He was nothing short of world class for 2 to 2 and a half years, however the fall of has been nothing short of dramatic since then. If we can get any sort of fee and shift him on to pastures new, then replace him with a player who can work within this system, it’s an improvement.
Wymsey Posted 27 August 2023 Posted 27 August 2023 (edited) As it has been mentioned in recent times in other threads about him, he has had a tough time personally which could - albeit slightly - have affected his performances. Edited 27 August 2023 by Wymsey

splinterdream Posted 27 August 2023 Posted 27 August 2023 Too good to be true, surely Forest are trolling us 1
CrispinLA in Texas Posted 27 August 2023 Posted 27 August 2023 Can we stop talking negative of him....just incase the Forest read this forum and change their mind about buying him. Can we just wait until he officially signs 🙏 1 1
dylanlegend Posted 27 August 2023 Posted 27 August 2023 Yeh I agree he doesn’t fit the system with Maresca just hope it doesn’t affect Ihenancho as they are good mates

If we can get any sort of fee and shift him on to pastures new, then replace him with a player who can work within this system, it’s an improvement. All the discussion about his age and potential for him being older than his 'official' age makes a lot of sense. And before that wild poster comes in to start crowing about racism - he did fail an MRI aging test. Signed a 6 year contract with us that saw him committing to his prime - a very generous deal for him and real loyalty to us. Might have been future proofing on his behalf. The massive drop-off in form and fitness - very similar to aging players but in his position there's nowhere really to hide. A seeming reluctance to look at a serious move; he still, theoretically, should have his best years ahead of him. Why isn't there more chatter? Whatever comes of it, it was a real privilege to watch him play for a good 2 years of his time here. I'd argue that in his peak he wasn't a million miles from Kante and that's no slight praise.
LCFCJohn Posted 27 August 2023 Posted 27 August 2023 I don’t want to be too smug about it as if he did rediscover his best form, he’d be an excellent signing for them. But if we can get a good fee, it’ll be good for us. If they pay us a good fee and his really is past it, that’d be great!
Jam orton Posted 27 August 2023 Posted 27 August 2023 Be nice to get a decent fee for him , will need replacing sharpish tho
jbflcfc Posted 27 August 2023 Posted 27 August 2023 & for a moment I thought wilfs new role would be an attacking midfielder for us!😂 Cant help but feel like he’s past it for the prem now.

Corky Posted 27 August 2023 Posted 27 August 2023 His decline has been really sad but best he moves on now, his time with us is done. 2
