Nottingham Forest in 'concrete negotiations' over shock transfer move for Premier League winner Schmeichel

Recommended Posts

Latest Nottingham Forest transfer news as the Reds are reportedly in talks over a move to sign former Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel from OGC Nice

Nottingham Forest are in "concrete negotiations" over a surprise move to sign former Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

The 36-year-old is currently plying his trade with OGC Nice in France, having unexpectedly left Leicester last summer in a million-pound deal

According to Eurosport Denmark, Forest are in "concrete negotiations" over a move for the stopper, who won the Championship, Premier League, FA Cup and Community Shield during his time in the East Midlands.

Sky Sports are reporting that "two unnamed Premier League clubs" have approached Nice over a possible move for Schmeichel. He is said to be "open to" talking to those teams ahead of a potential return to England.

It seems unlikely that Forest would sign both Dean Henderson and Kasper Schmeichel, given both men would see themselves as a certain number one. While a dean to sign Henderson from Manchester United is taking time, there is nothing else to suggest it is near collapse at this stage.

Surely this means they don’t need Kasper?

How can they sign anyone when there are alleged bonus payments outstanding?  Are they the new Everton?

Just don’t understand forest. Buy buy buy but who have they sold? Where’s the FFP in all this?

regarding kasper I hope he stays in France & retires. He’s coming to the end of the line. Good he doesn’t ruin his legacy by playing for forest. Makes me feel a bit sick just the thought of it 🤮

Matt Turner has passed his medical there and they're also still looking at bringing Dean Henderson in. Would be disappointing to see Schmeichel go there but feel like this link is just to try and hurry the deals along for Turner and Henderson.

He wouldn't ruin his legacy here by joining Forest. No wonder they think we're obsessed.

Our title winning captain, and one of our greatest ever managers, both played for Forest. I doubt their fans care they were successful here.

Hope their's no mortar this than rumours.

I'd hate to see this. He can obviously play for who he likes but it would be like when Lennon went to Forest. Yes he was slow and past it but just seeing him in that vile red shirt was horrible.

Same as when Muzzy went to Birmingham and, worst of all, Walshy went to Cov. They were no longer our players and could play for who they liked, but it just felt wrong.
