the response of the players and club with leeds related stuff tells me that things went on that Friday evening that we don’t know about

Players wouldn't usually keep going down the same road, day after day. It would surely be deemed unprofessional if there wasn’t more motivation than Rutter’s post match interview and Leeds playing their usual post match songs

Ampadu shouting “that was a huge huge game” as he walked back into the tunnel after the game at their place too….

Sadly we know that's not what the stats say, this is going to sound harsh but Leeds bottled loads then as well (though setting a VERY high standard AND Man City have won more

1965 - 2nd in the League on goal difference, FA Cup finalists

1966 - 2nd in the League, Semi's Fairs Cup

1967 - 4th in the league, FA Cup semi's, Fairs Cup final

1968 - League Cup & Fairs Cup WON, close shaves again in the League & Cup

1969 - Over the Hump, League Champions,

1970 - 2nd in the League, European Cup Semi, FA Cup final

1971 - Fairs Cup won

1972 - FA Cup won

1973 - 3rd in the League, FA Cup losers to 2nd Div Sunderland, ECWC Finalists

1974 - League title

So 6 trophies, 2 Leagues, 1 FA Cup, 1 League Cup, 2 Fairs Cup BUT 10 near misses Losing 2 FA CUP finals, 1 Fairs Cup Final, 1 ECWC Final, League 2nd, 2nd, 4th, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd

Under Mancini Man City won 1 League & FA Cup, Under Pelegrini a League & 2 League Cups - 6 years 5 trophies

Under Pep for 9 years - 13 trophies, 1 World & European Cup, 5 Leagues, 2 FA Cups, 4 League Cups + this season

The game was very different back then and probably illustrates more about the problems now rather than how good or otherwise Leeds were back in the day

Ha ha.  No!      But the 1973 one was a great "double save".

Kasper was wonderful of course but still great credit to Jim Montgomery for that double save in 73

Would be interesting if Leeds do manage to go up still.

Next season's games would be a bit fookin spiceh

Maybe this is the start of our own ‘brighton/palace’ type rivalry ?

I dont think either fanbase is very bothered about it though. Just a few social media warriors

Leeds didn't. They won in the old 1st Division in 91/92.  The trophy previous to that was in the mid 70's.

A good correction…. They were the last to win the old division…

And modern era is declared to be be after the inception of the Premier League

i withdraw my statement!

At the time I thought it was unwise for Enzo to make that comment but we gotta cut him some slack. He knew what Leeds fans were saying and the media wanted to hear. It’s a little dip into the mind games.

To be fair the Leeds fans have started this banter from the beginning. Coming after us and being the best team in the league certainly doesn’t help their cause now.

Leicester just responded in kind. Those 2 games with them were hyped up by the media and Leeds fans. Yeh it does irk me a little that we didn’t pummel in the 2nd game but we had issues that were going on. Anyway, I can move on knowing “we are the champions, no time for losers (Leeds) cuz we are the champion’s!”

Good luck to Leeds in the play offs they will need it. All that arrogance will be used as fuel by their rivals now.

It's funny really how Leeds view themselves and to an extent, how they're viewed by others when you actually consider their honours. Their major honours list is comparable to ours, yet they're viewed as a fallen giant and one of the biggest clubs in the country, and we're 'plucky Leicester'. I get that they have a big fanbase, but they're also the the only club in a city that is much bigger than ours, and there are lots of big towns/cities near Leeds such as Wakefield and Dewsbury that don't have a professional football team to support. It's also worth mentioning that we've spent more seasons in the top flight and fewer in the third tier.

Like others have said, we'll forget about this temporary rivalry pretty much overnight.

They won't though, and that's what's funny about it. Guaranteed you'll have them bringing it up when we next play them 8 years from now

For them it will brew longer if they stay down a while and go stale for a while after this.

Great to reflect on our recent history but nice to remain humble. Major honour wise (top division, fa cup and League cup) not a lot before 1997. I'm  sure fans were still proud of our club

No.    No one has ever made Forest fans sound humble and well-balanced.   Give me a Leeds fan over a Forest fan, any day of the week.

True, I guess. Forest fans would eat themselves if they were made of chocolate

on Leeds, I find it quite ironic they did the same thing to Thomas Frank and Brentford the year they went up from the championship, or do they forget about that?

they can give it but boy they dont like to take it

They did the same with Derby and Villa as well and came out second best.
