No i’ll enjoy it then but hard to enjoy the fact we’ve gone back to where we should be in an incredibly more dire financial situation and the people who put us there are still running the show.

 

With how much money we are spending and losing automatic promotion was a bare minimum. 
 

We aren’t some plucky underdog. We had the 8th biggest wage bill in the biggest league in the world. It’s shambolic we’ve had to spend a season slumming it down here.

Bloody hell, I thought I was a doomer but at least allow yourself 24 hours of celebrating. 
 

Also we’re not in a dire financial situation, we’re struggling with some arbitrary rules

Get over it. You don't finish the league table in wage bill order. Things went wrong after we won the FA Cup. We made some poor signings trying to maintain a Champions League push, but it happens sometimes. I don't remember many people talking about the terrible transfer business of signing a young French league winner in Soumare and a young striker with similar stats to Haaland, before our pre season that year started. People were genuinely pretty happy with the transfers and getting them done early. Fofana then got injured which was a massive loss. 

 

The club realised when we finished 8th that the spending then needed to stop. Rodgers got the hump and things went downhill from there. I don't blame them spending money in Jan that season trying to avoid relegation. 

 

We made some great signings last summer to give us a good chance of getting promotion. Automatic promotion was definitely not a guarantee. We can now continue to hopefully rebuild to a more sustainable financial position.

Think Vardy would deffo be a case of ‘never meet your heroes’ if thats one of his mates..
