Mads Hermansen (close to 18m move to West Ham)

Will be sad to see him go. Very decent keeper, and only happy with this if we get a good fee, as he has a lot of potential. 

 

That said, we have a ready made replacement, and truth be told whilst MH probably distributes the ball better, I actually prefer Jakub as a keeper. Jakub is in my opinion is definitely a better shot stopper and seems to command his box better. 

 

Hope we get a decent fee, and wish him well.

Jakub is fine but I think we will find out that mads is the Enzo of keepers. 
 

We won’t realise how good he is until he’s at a top club.  I think he’ll go right to the top and west ham will be a stepping stone. 
 

Exactly why a sell on clause should be a must. It will be a nice boost when we are in league 1

Jakub is fine, he will do perfectly well in the Championship and it will be great for his development to be our No.1 next season.

 

But Mads is another level entirely, further along in his development of course, but he's everything you would want in a GK. When he's fit, he's an excellent shot stopper and great with the ball at his feet. Him and Jakub are currently a decent way apart ability wise. 

 

Business is business and he needs to go, for us financially and we are fortunate to have Jakub who is a decent enough replacement for the level we are at next season. But don't kid yourself that right now he's as good as Mads, he's not.

Don’t get me wrong, I like Jakub, but I do feel he is very overrated by a lot of people on here. His distribution is awful, feel he may get found out a bit this season if he’s our starting keeper. He’s no Mads.

He isn't Mads, but he'll be absolutely fine in this league. Yes, his distribution is not great, but he's still a good steady keeper. 

 

Is he better than Mads, No he isn't. But he allows Mads to leave with a decent fee when we need it. So it works for us.

He is and he isn't. He's very very good but the Achilles he'll, particularly at top level, is his height. 

 

Jakub is a good % behind on every metric except crosses and corners. Which make up such a large part of a keeper's work. The % catch up on that area makes the overall difference quite small imo

His transfer (£20mil, fingers crossed) should fund our summer targets. If it gives us 15-20 million to spend on 3/4 players whilst reducing the wage bill. Unfortunately our current financial situation demands it.

Hopefully enables us to waive any unreasonable transfer fee for players with less than a year left on their deals. Just get a load of them gone.

Yout over rating mads which is fine  but YOU are then calling me delusional ..

 

It's fine to over rate a player we all do it but you then proceed to under rate Jakub. There isn't much difference between the two 

 

You may not like it but its true ..

Good keeper but hugely overrated by our fans (weirdly a lot of which is on the basis of a game where he conceded 4 goals) and was shite after coming back from injury. Get a decent chunk of profit and move on.

Last time we were in the championship Mads had the second lowest percentage of  launched passes.

It’s no great surprise - he should be playing Premier League football. It’s ashame it’s not with us but that’s down to our terrible recruitment last summer. 
 

We’re just fortunate we’ve got a more than competent Championship keeper in Stolarczyk ready to come in to the side. Hopefully he takes his chance across a whole season - don’t be surprised if there’s a few ups and downs with his development though, all keepers go through it.

I think while both Mads and Jacub are both brilliant shot stoppers, Mads is a much better footballer with the ball at his feet which we will miss with Jacub in goal, However Jacub is much more dominent at coming for crosses and dealing with corners which was definetly Mads main weakness.

100% slightly weaken one position but (in theory) greatly strengthen one ore two more.

its hard to say he’s there YET only due to his limited first team exposure. We might be saying it at the end of the season though.. although the reply might be he needs a full prem season first..

I have to agree, Mads is a very good goalkeeper, as is Jakub who whenever given the chance, as always been very solid and steady. 
 

if Jakub is given the starter role he will really kick on and I have no doubt that he will show he is also a top level keeper, the only reason Mads is ahead of Jakub is experience and game time, you have to remember Jakub has spent the last 2 seasons largely as a back up so hasn’t had the opportunity to play week in week out for a sustained period, once he is established and playing week in week out I think we will see we have a top level keeper in Stolrcyrk.

Only thing that worries me about this is we'll try a sign another more senior keeper. Illan Meslier is the one that I have a feeling is on our list, i have no info just a gut feeling.

Look forward to selling a prize asset so we can get a few 32y+ perennial Championship cloggers in rather than reinvesting in some young players who then go on to become a prize asset.
