He needs to go abroad. He won't be a regular starter in the Premier League and what is the point in playing lower? Big money move to America, gotta be.

It's almost like we all, including JV himself, expected every suitable club to be falling over themselves to sign him. It hasn't worked out that way. He is 38, and everyone will have seen him play last season in a relegated side. Any prospective club would be trying to think how they can incorporate an ageing player, with decreasing speed and effectivity, into their side. And most are deciding it's just not worth it.

The longer this goes on, the sadder the story gets for him. Probably needs to just retire now and maybe work on starting a coaching career and get his badges. For a late bloomer at the top level, he has so much experience and know-how that could be passed on.

Yes, I'm surprised he hasn't followed his ex teammate Andy King's lead to be fair since he called it a day with us at the end of last season...as I think he was done playing at the maintainable level he liked last season in all honesty.

The wife legal card is overused and it's really annoying to be played all the time. Do you really believe they're poor as a family they can't afford to pay?

Of course not!! I was only joking. You didn't think I was serious? lol

Burnley, Leeds or Sunderland after a few games when the realisation that they leak goals like a tap and struggle to get the ball in the opposition net would surely take a punt.

Wouldn't be surprised if he's offered a small amount of equity in one of the teams like Messi to account for a lower salary.  Good publicity for a club. He's already shown he's willing to have a dabble in the Rochester NY thing.   Admittedly that didn't go so well...

Slightly surprised he hasn't already moved to the MLS. Really hope he isn't waiting for a move to a PL side. Think he'll be left waiting a bit if he does (and it would be heartbreaking to see).

I know he's younger, but I don't see why West Ham would sign Callum Wilson when Vardy is available. But perhaps Vardy is asking for much higher wages.

Vardy is no lonnger here because he thinks he can still play at the highest level and command over 100k a week.

He's wage demands will be the reason no one has picked him up.

Wonder if Newcastle will go for him if Isak goes and they miss out on Sesko

They’ve got zero strikers anyway so I thought they might do as a second option!

I'd have to say no.

Unless we could have him here on a "pay as you play" rolling contract, on much less money than he was on before.

But then that almost feels insulting to our best ever.

I think it's best for us both if we both move on.

He might be a free transfer, however let’s be realistic, we massively overused and relied on him last season. He was a goal every 316 minutes (in a team that had average service though). He missed chances as well, people don’t want to hear it, but he did.

He underperformed his xG, he was was expected to score 11, he scored 9.

Chris Wood was a goal every 148 minutes!

Modern football requires pressing from the front,  he can’t even press like Daka can now. He should be playing for 30 minutes a game in reality.

Who is going to pay £140k a week for someone that is playing 30 Minutes a week?

Vardy is our greatest ever player, a true Leicester icon. However the Premier League is arguably the hardest league in the world.

The challenge with the United States, he was convicted of assault in 2007. That makes getting into the USA that bit more challenging. He’d need to apply for a P1 visa, I’d expect it to be waived though quite quickly though.

I’m starting to think him returning is inevitable.

The trademark lazy, backwards looking, clueless, stick with what you know, the fans will love it, kind of decision that has plagued us under Top’s “leadership”

You seem to have a low opinion of JV. I’m sure that nobody on this forum knows what is going on behind the scenes. He may already have someone lined up or is actually enjoying some sort of retirement.

When fit, they're both pretty much the same player.

That being said Vardy's 39 in January and Wilsons legs are made of Weetabix. Can't believe a Prem club would touch either of them

Can’t help but thinking he was under the impression loads of offers would come in - I’m sure he has had a few that just haven’t worked for one reason or the same reason his Mrs - makes you wonder what he will do - I’m pretty sure we would have offered him reduced terms for one more year before it all became official he was leaving as he would have been sure he would get his 100k a week somewhere- I’m not sure any established prem teams would touch him - scared he  would be a handful in the changing room - you have to remember he is a one off and we will love him forever but not everyone does - I think he is currently sitting there after not doing a proper pre season thinking coming back on reduced terms wouldn’t be the worst idea - it won’t happen because we don’t have the money but it’s definitely not been his plan to still be without a club come august - we’ve seen before after injuries how off it he looks - no pre season ain’t a good thing at his age - let’s see what happens but I wouldn’t rule out his reps floating the idea of coming back at all
