To be fair I was expecting prime Iniesta so we shall see from here.

 

In all seriousness the bar was to be better than Skipp and I’m already fairly confident that he’ll pass that with ease. It was a breath of fresh air having a player who looked like he was capable of carrying and progressing the ball from midfield. 
 

We need to sort out what’s ahead of him now. Play a proper striker and decide who’s best in the 10 position to join him and Winks in midfield. But this was a good start on debut

He looked very good to me. I honestly don't know what people expect from a 21 year old making his first start.

 

He covered the pitch well, closed people down, laid the ball off in a progressive way and looked controlled on the ball.

Surprised he went so cheap but they had financial problems. Not sure when the new owners took over?

New owners were in situ. But I think he had a single year left on his contract

He is already showing he is worth more than £4m.

Not the cleanest of strikes but the movement and drive from a CM highlights how awful the Bouba/Skipp pairing was.

 

JJ signing in the summer regardless of what league that were in, seems like such a good bit of business.

 

£4m fee too, which is allegedly half of the loan fee that we paid for Edouard to just sulk around Seagrave.

One of very few positives tonight!  

 

I thought he took up some lovely positions, was aggressive to win the ball back on a number of occasions and a lovely timed run for his goal! 

 

Not surprising to see the only player that hasn’t been involved around this club in the past 2-3 seasons looks confident and positive ( Bar Abdul but not tonight) 

 

Will be a solid, steady player for us this season! 🦊
