Just imagine if we ever got an England Manager that said if we score 1, then our whole focus will be on getting a 2nd and 3rd and killing off the game.

I can dream.

How the f can fernandez show his face at chelsea? I hate the runt

They let him back in (as captain?) after the racist incident while he was on national duty against France didn't they?

We're not allowed to take Kane off

That horrible moment when you realise the manager doesn’t think you can score again, even though you scored two minutes ago.

Rooney talking a lot of sense.  Saying the players were probably thinking "oh ****" when they saw Tuchel flooding the team with defenders.

BTW this wank fest over Messi is getting a bit much, he wasn't why they won tonight.

Hmm  I'm sorry, I'm not having that.

4th, sure. 3rd, maybe. Semi final is about our level, further if everybody is on it. But beyond Kane and Bellingham we're nowhere near the required depth.

Wages and transfer fee wise they are BUT I get your arguement 👍🏾

He took off Gordon and brought on Konsa - what message does that send to the players? He's should get the blame because that is a woeful call.

He had about 15 minutes plus the hydration break when nothing was happening for 3 minutes to collect his thoughts and make that substitution as well. Baffling.

Tuchel pretty much decided we aren't good enough to beat them without going full defensive. His squad for me reflects that he didn't really rate us going forward, he picked a squad to see us through games but its not worked tonight.

It's an acceptable tournament overall and I think we are about where we deserve to be. This squad is not a world cup winning squad.

Whilst i agree generally about the squads level, this was absolutely a winnable game in isolation. We've got Saka and Rashford getting splinters where good but not spectacular players like De Paul and Nico Gonzalez are changing the game for Argentina.

It was an incredibly poorly coached game by a coach who was hired to get through games like that.

Can tell Rooney played for one of the best managers in history

Clearly on another level with his insights

If we stay positive and go for a second and get caught it would be so much easier to take. We took the cowardly way out and it absolutely stinks

It was just so ****ing unnecessary. We couldn't have played any more into Argentina's hands. Their equaliser felt inevitable, and their winner did as well after that arrived.

You don't have to go all guns blazing but at least try and get the game out of our own half. It's like the Mexico game has duped him into this false sense of security that we'll just defend our way through it and not get punished. You're alright when the oppositions best attacker is Raul Jimenez. Argentina have real firepower.

It's not like they didn't give us warnings. There's no hard luck story. No bad luck. No corruption accusations. Just total cowardice. They completely deserved to beat us.

The most galling part of that is this manager was brought in pretty much on his game management. The whole rationale behind that appointment was turning the oh so nearly's into wins. To fall down very specifically on that point is sickening.

I don't really understand why this continues to happen. Is it all the emotion, the over sentimentality and exagerrated suffering, the slightly performative hope that "it's coming home"? Just go out there and get it like other national teams do. Loser mentality.

I’m so upset here, it’s because until we scored we were better… it’s stupidity again and yeah this is on Tuchel. He had ****ing 6 defenders on the pitch. This isn’t a league match looking for a point. You can say the players dropped back, but I feel that was the idea why else would 6 defenders be on the pitch

Next England boss?

I'm thinking Big Sam, Neil Warnock Alan Pardew or Alan Curbishley.

Or Paul Jewell.

Felt like a teenager watching us defending on our 6 yard box against Portugal in 2004 & 2006 all over again.

How many serious warnings did they need before these goals? Honestly sickening.

Ebs and flows.

I do think we have a top group of players ability wise. I’d argue you could field a team of English players that got left at home and I’d expect them to get to the quarter final, Fodens, Palmers, Maguire etc.

However tactically we’ve lost that.

Man for man, France are the best in the world.

Spain are the best team tactically though and that has shown in this tournament. They’re efficient but a little boring.

Argentina are okay but take Messi out and they don’t have a team of world beaters either.
