I’m torn on whether it would be harsh if Tuchel was sacked after this?

We’ve looked resolute and we’ve been quite clinical, but we’ve also looked really average for large spells of games, often unable to break teams down with any sort of creativity.
Tuchel has been phenomenal as an in game coach and he’s made some bold decisions like playing Spence who’s been fantastic, but then today he encouraged decisions that ultimately led to our collapse, and this result is obviously lands at the players doors, but Tuchel played a huge role in it also.

Quite a few times this tournament we spent a long time either hopelessly defending our own box and refusing to press out, or aimlessly passing sideways trying to break teams down.

I like Tuchel personally but I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s gone in the coming days. Is it too much to ask to see some heavy metal football?

To go that defensive so early is unforgivable. We all knew it was coming from that point. Complete momentum shift and showed them far too much respect

I personally think it was a mistake to go to a back 5 so early, would like to hear Tuchels thoughts on that…

Every person on the planet thought that was a ****ing terrible decision.... except for Thomas Tuchel

I think the issue that got to Tuchel was he knew he had his best 11 on the pitch… there’s an argument he was better off making zero changes, but that would have been a huge shift for all of them.

Best XI is a flexible term.  Best XI on paper isn't always best in game. Kane is a world class forward but in that moment he wasn't useful. Take him off for someone with pace and freshness.

Tuchel committed football suicide.

He can **** himself

The problem is, he lacked options. But he lacked options because he of his decision to leave out some top drawer players. He has been lauded for that up until now, but you saw the options Argentina had. They didnt care the Fernadez is a **nt - they still played him.

The 2 players that changed the game, Nico Fernandez and De Paul are not world beaters. We went into our shell and got punished.

A great cross by Messi but when you have three giant centre halves we should not we conceding a header to Martinez

I kind of got the impression that this was gonna be a one tournament job whichever way it ended. Might be wrong

If ever there was a time to put in a shift....

He didn't need to go balls deep defensive.

Rashford on at the same time gives us an outlet, asks a question of Argentina.

Tuchel gave them no questions simply an answer as to how to win.

It was so obvious. We could all see it. It was never going to work.

Was a very even game until we scored and then decided to camp in our own box. Even with those changes what would we have done in extra time? We had completely hobbled ourselves. So dumb, against a very beatable Argentina.

We had them, then we tried to hang on… it’s stupid you don’t do that and get away with it against Argentina

We had all of the tools at our disposal to get a result there against an Argentine side who've been shown up in every knockout match until now. Got everything we deserved from breathtaking cowardice.

Even more gutting having been such a fan of how Tuchel's conducted himself until now.

Subs were a mess tonight, Kane isn’t the most mobile and needed legs around him and service. Subs just further isolated him. Crying out for Rashford much earlier.

The sitting back came too early but the real issue is they just stopped pressing.

There was no pressure in the midfield so Argentina had all the time and space to take pot shots and put as many balls in as they liked. Inevitable some are going to drop their way. They could have had five in that last 10 mins.

I've been his biggest praiser this tournament but he's undone all of it today.

I'd argue that negative tactics he's done there is worse than Southgate ever did. Far too early and invited pressure non stop for the last 15 mins. Absolutely mind blowing how Kane was on the pitch. Honestly if he went I wouldn't be disappointed for that management display there.

Spain should absolutely wipe the floor with these cheating, corrupt pr*cks

Corrupt?  Simply a better team against us. I didn't see any evidence of corruption or cheating. Argies used physical and dodgy spoiling tactics. That's all.

Tuchel pretty much decided we aren't good enough to beat them without going full defensive. His squad for me reflects that he didn't really rate us going forward, he picked a squad to see us through games but its not worked tonight.

It's an acceptable tournament overall and I think we are about where we deserve to be. This squad is not a world cup winning squad.
