Would be the perfect opportunity for the club to give back and create a Family Night Football type atmosphere.

Free tickets to local school, tickets on sale no more than a fiver. 
Make it a bit of fun that people start enjoying going to these game like the old reserves league games.

A great chance to see 4 or 5 first team players alongside a few of the up and coming stars.

No one wants to be in this competition, but were in it, let’s go and win it and have some fun along the way.

Must not lose. Shame Ilari cannot play, was pretty much they only reason I could come up with to tune in. Expect Russell will go strong with the break to come.

Yes, just checked 11v11, we did play Lincoln City on Tuesday 23/09/08. It was the Johnston Paint Trophy at the time.

That would have been a steady team at the time with quite a few regulars. Gradel came on, the. Was subbed off again! 

 

We won 3-1 on penalties, King missed his. Berner, King and Fryatt scored for us.

 

We then went on to lose to Rotherham 2-0. What a low that must have been at the time.

I’ve just checked how many times we entered as a Cat 1 academy….

 

16/17 - Lost in 2nd Round. We played 1 game at home. Lost 1-0 to Walsall.


17/18  - Lost in Round of 16. All played away.

18/19  - Knocked out in group. All played away.

19/20 - Lost in Qtr Final. All games played away.

20/21 - Lost in Round3. All played away.

21/22 - Knocked out in group. All played away. 

22/23 - Knocked out in group. All played away.
23/24 - Knocked out in group. All played away.

24/25 - Knocked out in group. All played away. 
 

So the only home game we’ve ever played other than Lincoln was Walsall in 2016, which 839 people attended. We lost 1-0.

So weird stat time …… as we didn’t score in either home game that we’ve ever played in this competition, we could get our first ever win in full time at home and our first ever goal at home in this competition tonight!

What signing Tunchev and Berner were for League 1. It's a shame Tunchev was injured so much. I love Berner at the time.

Yeah I remember it a bit better now. Pretty awful game. My dad is a Lincoln city fan, went together, one of the only times the two LCFCs have played each other in my lifetime

That's a respectable attendance for this competition. I was there, but just had no memory of the crowd.

 

We've had less for league cup games as a Championship side.

Hahaha fully thought this was a PL2 fixture, can't believe this is a game for our senior side. Against a bunch of kids. What a bloody club

Reading the rules at a glance yesterday, it doesn't have to include 4 players from the grouping you've provided (which is correct). Its 4 who meet this criteria, have 40 senior starts or are on loan from a PL/Cat 1 club. So easy for us to make 11 changes and hit that.

 

Shame that the youth internationals are away
