Liamlcfc1 Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 Leeds United can confirm that the club has accepted an offer for an undisclosed sum for Kasper Schmeichel from Leicester City.United manager Simon Grayson said: "We feel this is the right deal for the club. "We spoke to Kasper's agent at the end of the season about a contract extension and it was apparent that it was going to be difficult to agree a deal. "Given the fact he has one year remaining on his contract we feel this is in the best interests of Leeds United."

Libertine Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 Wasn't sure beforehand due to some Leeds fans' opinions, but am quite excited now. Obviously got a few things to work on but he's definitely a good keeper, and importantly seems quite the presence behind the defence which we need.

Warning to those thinking this is a done deal, celebrate when he signs, not when an offer is accepted.
kingfox Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 How can we bid just £1 million for Schmeichel, strange price as I think he is worth at least two million more. Very good young goalkeeper and if we pull this signing off, aswell as Peltier, Maynard and Nugent that would be amazing stuff.
