The "do they mean us?" thread

Recommended Posts

We're top, they're not. We beat them. We've got a better atmosphere. All there is to it.

This is exactly why Palace have beef with us. They cant accept the fact that we have knocked them off their perch when it comes to atmosphere. We have the best home and away fans in the country by a country mile

I was even more amazed how easily they were allowed to cut inside in to their stronger foot, Vardy's goal was Mahrez cutting back onto his left, Mahrez's goal came from Albrighton cutting back onto his right and then Mahrez on to his left. Three occasions Chelsea should have shown them down the line and onto their weaker foot.

Perhaps that's what Jose is getting at with his 'betrayal' comments?

"One of our most original songs" which they started singing about 2008 kind of time? Stolen from a German club as well.

I used to quite like these but they're becoming a bit of a joke. They can't handle having their crown stolen. They're in the top three sides I hope we beat this season.

So no title for Chelsea this season and despite being the undisputed team of the season in the opening months of the campaign, it is too much of a stretch to imagine Claudio Ranieri's Leicester upsetting all odds and winning the league. This leaves the title, realistically, as a battle between Manchester City, twice champions in recent seasons, and Arsenal, as they chase their first Premier League crown since 2004.

Odd that they just completely dismiss us like that.

It's the same bloke who constantly dismisses us... then says he was wrong... then dismisses us again.

Yeah in the article where he admits his pre-season prediction for us was a pile of horse shit he goes on to say "regretfully" or "with a heavy heart" or some shit Leicester won't win the league. As if he's apologising to us for predicting that we won't win the league. You don't need to apologise McNulty, because literally nobody gives a single shit about any of your half arsed bullshit predictions so just stfu

Leicester City must now show their strength in depth – five talking points from Chelsea victory

Sports reporter James Sharpe picks out five talking points from Leicester City's 2-1 victory over Chelsea that sent Claudio Ranieri's side top of the Premier League.

MAHREZ AND VARDY OUTSHINE EXPENSIVE RIVALS

For the price Chelsea paid for Eden Hazard, Leicester could have signed Riyad Mahrez nearly 100 times over. Just let that sink in for a moment.

But, in the battle of the star wingers, it was the £400,000 Algerian who left his expensive counterpart cowering in his shadow.

Mahrez's ball for Jamie Vardy's opener was majestic, while his control and finish for Leicester's second was of such quality, had Lionel Messi scored it, the pundits would still be purring. Hazard, meanwhile, limped off after half an hour, with Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho accusing him of taking "10 seconds" to decide he did not want to come back on.

In another key battle, Vardy produced a cutting run and first-time finish of a top-class striker while Diego Costa cut a frustrated figure, failing to make the most of a glaring one-on-one situation.

TEAM SPIRIT...AND MORE

Much has been made of the spirit of this City team. They are great mates, who give everything for each other on the pitch, and enjoy each other's company off it. See the Copenhagen Christmas party trip for more details.

But that spirit is just a part of it. It must not – but sometimes does – overshadow the fact that this Leicester side is packed with quality. And not just the deadly duo

Christian Fuchs is a world-class full-back, N'Golo Kante is phenomenal, Marc Albrighton possesses exceptional delivery. I could go through the entire team but I don't have enough words. They are a team of skill, not just spirit. They should get the credit for it.

STRENGTH IN DEPTH

There have always been questions, though, amid this march to the dizzy summit of the Premier League, about how City would cope if their squad became stretched through injury or suspension. That, the naysayers scoffed, would prove their undoing as title challengers.

We got the first glimpse of that on Monday night as Danny Drinkwater, so crucial to City's rise this season, went off early with a hamstring injury. But Andy King came on and Drinkwater's absence was hardly noticed.

With Drinkwater out, Jeff Schlupp also sidelined with a hamstring injury, Robert Huth suspended for the trip to Everton, and Vardy only a booking away from a ban, City must now prove they do have strength in depth.

MORE THAN JUST PACE

Even a pundit with such a modest level of tactical insight as Robbie Savage could work out that City's most potent weapon is their pace on the counter. They have five of the 10 quickest players in the Premier League and turn defence into attack in the blink of an eye.

Against Chelsea, though, City proved they possess more strings to their deadly bow than just pace. Leicester passed their way through Chelsea with intricacy, skill and pin-point finishing. There were five defenders in the box for the first goal, and seven for the second. They are not one-trick foxes.

CRUCIAL KANTE

I hate to say it, but I think the cat might be out the bag. Vardy and Mahrez have made a habit of stealing headlines this season, which has, to the relief of Leicester fans, taken attention away from their midfield tiger. But Kante has been as crucial to City's success this season as either of them. As small as he is, it is impossible to hide him any more.

He is the ball-winning midfielder that Leicester have lacked, and craved, since the departure of Neil Lennon. He never stops running, screens the back four, breaks up play with a laser-guided tackling foot, and drives forward with purpose with an eye for a pass. Hands off, okay.

Who is Sam Cunningham from the Mail - Was he being forced to eat his humble pie? Quote " I still think they will finish out of the top six and could quite easily get relegated in the next few years" - why Sam why do you think this?!

The USA article I can understand, we are being sold as a heroic club, the small guy who rises up to give the big guys a hiding.

With a manager who peeps thought was finished, star players who have come from nothing.

It is something to catch the readers imagination and will get peeps to take notice.

Basically an American writers dream story and it is kept simplistic so that even Donald Trump might be able to understand it :xmaslaugh:

Jeebus, that USA Today article reads as if it was written with a general target audience of ten-year olds in mind. What an insult to intelligence!

And what's "small" about us?

Appreciate Palace fans are a load of jebends but tbf there are no '14 year old ultras' there. Their group is now 10 years old so I would imagine they are mostly late 20s/early 30s by now.

which makes it even funnier/more pathetic/makes you feel even more sorry for them that they all still act like 14 year old wannabee ultras. odds on they all still live with their parents. they're probably using our flags as fu cking duvet covers the ugly c unts.
