Mare of Easttown - Kate winslet like I’ve never seen her before in a really great murder mystery, 3 episodes in and I’m completely hooked , she will win awards for this

Also this.

Winslet throws absolutely everything at the role. She's the producer on it too and made sure it's absolutely authentic to a bleak, rundown, rural Northern US town. It's somewhere between True Detective and Fargo - a must-watch for anyone who likes any sort of twisty crime thriller.

Was reading that HBO were hesitant when they heard she was to be an unkempt, quite unlikeable character but Winslet insisted on no makeup, unwashed hair etc. and also kicked off when she found out she was getting a bigger trailer than everyone else, insisting everyone be treated equally.

Really no point in me watching Lanyards Of Duty now after the spoilers in this thread.

I thought that but I’ve just got to S3 and it’s still very good (even if you have a pretty good idea of how it’s all going to pan out, getting there is still tense).

Lindsay Denton is an all time great UK drama character.

Not watched them back in a while but apparently they've been butchered to bits, chopped up and censored. Can't even watch league of gentlemen anymore which is a travesty, when overtly racist TV shows from the 70s still get rerun on telly, a shame some people are too thick to understand satire.

Which ones? Which channels?

YouTube doesn't count.

It’s getting better and better, I’m on episode 3 now and the twisting mystery has got me waiting for the next week. Reminds me a bit of the American version of The Killing

Wandavision grew on me over time, first 2 eps were so odd, but actually maybe the best ones once you complete the series. Best marvel thing I've seen in quite a while. One thing I read that made me laugh, someone watched almost an entire episode half way through the run with German dubbing on and just thought well, this is weird, must be a reason for it! lol

It was weird, but nice to watch something slightly more subtle and not just things smashing into each other and explosions every 10 seconds.

For all Mankind (seasons 1 & 2) - Apple TV+

Really enjoyed the show, there is an interesting twist that the poster slightly gives away in the first episode, and then after that it's a reimagined space race, spanning 60's, 70's, 80's. So lots of space exploration, moon landings etc, if you are in to that.

Episodes 2 and 3 (or was it 3 and 4?) I could see turning people off a bit, it gets a little "PC", I worried it was going to be horribly forced, but actually it's only those two episodes and after that it's done well and you don't really even notice it, with the plots all weaving together nicely.

It's not perfect, but it's done really well. End of season two was one of the best bits of TV I've seen for a while.

Just finished the second season myself, and yeah, the ending was superb. Would very much recommend.

I might get AppleTV for a month as it's only a fiver. Can watch that and Ted Lasso then.

Second season of Ted Lasso is out in July, so if you wait until then you can watch both seasons (if you haven't seen season 1).

The Servant was alright as well, if a bit frustrating (It's an M. Night Shyamalan show).

Virgin offered me a promo a couple of months ago which included access to Sky Cinema. I accepted but now I find that Sky Cinema isn't all that great. I could get many of the same stuff on either Virgin, Amazon or Netflix, which I already have subscriptions for.

'Gods of Snooker' on iPlayer

For those who remember the halcyon days of the 70's and 80's, it's a fantastic trip down memory lane.

Far too young to remember it :D but I'll give it a watch.

Watched all of Ted Lasso yesterday. Very enjoyable. Its hard not to like the guy.

I don't know if people noticed, but the club owner is also the "Shame" nun from Game Of Thrones. She's also been in an episode of Not Going Out years ago as a dominatrix in a porno!

Really don't know what to think about that one tbh lol, loved that Johnson from peep show was in it

I don't recall a more bizarre episode.

Lacked the punch of many of the previous episodes IMO but still a fun episode and can't wait for more.

Just finished season 2 of line of duty. Much better and can see what all the hype is about now, incalculably better than season 1.

Season 2 is where it all came together for me. That scene where Lyndsey Denton is being interrogated then turns it against them in the same scene had me hooked from then on.

Rewatching season 1 with the extra context of following seasons made that season even better iMO.
