How many managers did we go through before Holloway who didn't win their first match in charge? Now the last four have done (plus Appleton as caretaker).

I seem to remember that no manager had won their first game for around 50 years before Holloway did it. Pearson did it twice, Claudio did it (Sunderland), Shakespeare (Liverpool), Appleton (Swansea) and now Claude has done it.

 

Weirdly they've all been at home (except Appleton at Swansea)!

At the quarter pole, several City players are top ten in key statistics.

 

GOALS:   5th (T)   Jamie Vardy   6

ASSISTS:  6th (T)   Riyad Mahrez   4

BLOCKS:   4th   Wes Morgan   15      5th (T)   Danny Simpson   13      10th (T)   Harry Maguire   10

TACKLES: 1st   Wilfred Ndidi  43

INTERCEPTIONS:   8th   Christian Fuchs   21

PENALTIES SAVED:   1st (T)   Kasper Schmeichel   1

 

And then FOULS: 3rd (T)   Wilfred Ndidi   18

 

Lastly, to prove stats don’t always lie … SHOTS …

1.            Harry Kane   57  :blink:

2.            Romelu Lukaku   37

 

A little piggish are we ‘arry ?!  8 goals on 57 shots is well below the PL average conversion rate.  BTW we are fourth as a team in conversion rate behind the Manchester clubs and Chelsea, despite Vardy barely approaching his own standard so far.  Assuming he heats up (or reverts to mean, as the statheads say) … we march onwards and upwards.

Thanks for the figures.....It seems we aren't quite the car crash many (hangs head and holds hand up here) were writing us off for just 2 weeks ago.

I'm surprised Ruud VN even scored one outside the box. Also surprised he's not in the premier league 100 goal club.
