MPH Posted 17 February 2016 Posted 17 February 2016 Gray: 65 minutes against Spurs and for most of it looked our most dangerous player. 5 minutes against Villa 90 mins v spurs - where again most of the decent stuff came from his side with him and Chillwell 2 minutes v Stoke 11 minutes v Liverpool 13 minutes against Man City 30 minutes against Arsenal whilst we were down to ten men. Could a player had a more difficult start to his career here. Well he could be thrown in as a RB in his first ever competitive game in a new country....
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 17 February 2016 Posted 17 February 2016 Well he could be thrown in as a RB in his first ever competitive game in a new country.... Why are you trying make this thread about Amartey mate?
filbertway Posted 17 February 2016 Posted 17 February 2016 Well he could be thrown in as a RB in his first ever competitive game in a new country.... What does this mean exactly? Aside from winger or striker, I can't think of a less pressurised position.
Master Fox Posted 17 February 2016 Posted 17 February 2016 Love Gray. Give it time. He's going to start scoring some wonder goals soon enough.
Fox92 Posted 17 February 2016 Posted 17 February 2016 I don't doubt Gray is for the future but with Schlupp injured and clearly a way off returning we needed someone for now. Nor does anyone deny how frustrating Schlupp can be. But he is - or at least was - genuinely fast, extremely strong and often dangerous which are three important requirements in Premiership football. Gray has qualities, no question - his shooting technique and dead ball striking for a start. But he's not devastatingly quick in possession and is too easily muscled off the ball. He needs to have a word with Drinkwater because he's toughened up no end. Yeah they are if the player actually uses those assets. I get fed up watching Schlupp dally on the ball not knowing what to do.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 17 February 2016 Posted 17 February 2016 Gray looked amazing in his Tottenham games, think he's certainly a starter in the upcoming seasons. Hard to displace Albrighton right now though.
act smiley Posted 17 February 2016 Posted 17 February 2016 What does this mean exactly? Aside from winger or striker, I can't think of a less pressurised position. Amartey usually plays centrally. Adjusting to a different position always comes with pressure.

IN YOUR FACE @@filbertway But seriously though as well as what he mentioned positional sense could be off leading to possible mistakes and even giving away penalties... yellow/ red card for bad tackles are a possibility... We just don't really need to be taking any risks right now.... Wouldbe be surprised if he went 3 at the back and had Fuchs and Albrighton as WB's with Amartey coming in at CB
les-tah Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 ****in hell was expecting him to talk like Jeff Shlooop

Sharpe's Fox Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 Hope this lad plays next Sat he looks like a beast. Also a bit like May Day from A View to a Kill.

I would be surprised if he did that, but I think it would actually be a good decision. Most of the squad can play that way having shown at the back end of the season and Fuchs has made a career as a wing back. This is probably the best time to be taking a risk anyway. We need cover/competition for Simpson and Was is more often that not, competent at best as a right back. I'd bang Armartey in there without a second thought. Or recall De Laet if possible. I'd definitely by a squad full of players though and make sure there is decent competition for all spots.

fox in the sox Posted 23 February 2016 Posted 23 February 2016 Get him on Radio Leicester presenting some shows. Would be a great laugh. They need some new presenters without 'personal issues'.

David Lowe Posted 25 February 2016 Posted 25 February 2016 Hope this lad plays next Sat he looks like a beast. Also a bit like May Day from A View to a Kill. He should only play if he is definitely fit and they feel he can slot in OK. Otherwise stick with Was, yes he made one mistake but he is usually reliable.
Gerard Posted 25 February 2016 Posted 25 February 2016 Was is the safe & reliable choice, he's an accomplished defensive right back. I'd like to see Amartey against Norwich purely because that would been he has impressed enough to get in ahead of Was.
dbtcity Posted 25 February 2016 Posted 25 February 2016 It's a bit of a worry chucking in Amartey if he's not quite ready as the left wing is probably Norwich main threat with Brady
Gerard Posted 25 February 2016 Posted 25 February 2016 It's a bit of a worry chucking in Amartey if he's not quite ready as the left wing is probably Norwich main threat with Brady Brady is welcome to come forward as much as he likes. Turn the ball over and pass it to Mahrez on the right wing.
AyewJoking Posted 25 February 2016 Posted 25 February 2016 He's probably rusty, not played since the 6th of December.. That is over two months. This is his pre-season, so think back to our pre-season before making a judgement. There were plenty of rusty players against Birmingham. Despite peoples view of his performance tonight, I'd still start him at Norwich and play him the next couple of games. The lad needs wd40 to get rid of that rust.
