Aus Fox Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 Christ they've the most points over two seasons who writes this shit? Why stop at two years, why not 5, 10, since 1992 in the history of football? i tell you why because you don't win trophies for made up shit and no one cares!
CloudFox Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 This 'most points over two seasons' stuff is such nonsense. They still had the second-most points in the league each season...so they've not deserved to win it, have they?
boots60 Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 Taking a breather from the Spurs saga, enjoyable though it is, Jose Mourinho has said he will put out a weakened side out at Arsenal tomorrow. Is this wise? Should he not be going full tilt for 4th place? All it takes to get knocked out of the Europa league, which is obviously his priority, is either one dismal performance or one dismal refereeing performance & your gone. He may regret his decision.
Wymsey Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 Spurs seem to get very near but are unable to open the door to success at the end.
Max Power Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 Spurs didn't play that much in Europe though. Because they got knocked out early. Twice.
justfoxes Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 Arsenal and Spurs bottle so much always remind me of that saying ! Arsenal & Spurs Always the bridesmaids and never the brides !!
RumbleFox Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 It is odd because, on the face of it, I should like Spurs. They are not one of the traditional "big" teams of the Premiership era, they have a good, young squad with lots of British players, they play attractive football, they haven't spent as much money as some of the bigger teams and they do have an interesting (if sometimes annoying) manager. However, despite all that and despite being a rational person in most other aspects of my life I just kinda hate Spurs and have been laughing that they messed it up again. I know it's childish and I am not proud of myself but when I saw the result last night I laughed. I don;t know whether it was the couple of games during the O'Neill years, the Freund incident, Harry Kane's face? God knows but I cannae help it. Even now, as I tell myself to stop writing this and grow up I am still laughing a bit at them. Next season let's do all of them again. Let's fvcking do them all. We can take any of these cvnts. We can have another miracle. Rumble X
Aus Fox Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 I also think the answer to the question who had the most points over the past 2 seasons? Is N'golo Kante who at the minute has 14 more than Spurs!

Koke Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 The "not playing in Europe" excuse is such bollocks. Chelsea won the double in 2010 whilst playing in Europe and won the league again in 2015 whilst playing in Europe, so why do knobs like Carragher think Chelsea wouldn't have won the league now again. Man Utd and Man City hsve won league titles whilst playing in Europe as well.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 A freak not just because we happen to be the best team that season then, also we won and Chelsea are only winning it over the media darlings because we didn't play in Europe... okay... so I guess it is very unusual for a team playing in Europe to win it

He will play a strong team. He has so many top class players. infact, he couldn't really come up with a poor starting eleven if he tried. It's all mind games. It's typical jose. If spurs want to do well at Wembley next season then they should stick Anthony Joshua up top. He has a better record at Wembley than they do!

reynard Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 6 hours ago, Walkers said: Yeah I think this bottling accusation towards Spurs is harsh, even last year. The only team that can bottle it is the team leading. The accusation you should throw at Spurs is them giving themselves too much to do come February/March time. There's some truth in this but last night they bottled it. They had a chance to put some pressure on Chelsea by closing the gap to a single point. Playing a side not in great form in a stadium with no intimidating atmoshere and they basically didn't show up when it mattered though credit to West Ham who played well. Last season they moaned they were always playing after us well this season they have played before Chelsea and they still couldn't do it when it mattered. Last season they basically imploded in that game against Chelsea. When the pressure was really on they couldn't hack it. How they finsihed the match with more than 9 players was amazing. One of the most disgusting attempts to literally kick your opponents off the pitch since the days of the Leeds side of the 1970s. It isn't over yet but the ball is firmly in Chelea's court. Last season we didn't bottle it or even wobble like Chelsea have, let's see if they can see it through as they should do. If so it will be another season with no trophy for Spurs. Lots of plaudits but no real success. Then in the summer the vultures will circle over their squad and try to pick off some of the talent. In the summer Man City and Man United will spend even more grossly offensive sums of money in pursuit of the title. With a new stadium to finance Spurs may not be able to compete.
Tuna Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 7 million net spend for Spuds? I'd like to see evidence to back that up.

They got £40M this season from selling Mason, Chadli, Pritchard and Yedlin. And the year before that they got £40M from selling Soldado, Townsend and Paulinho. They're very good at selling enough players to cover their transfers.

He told Monday Night Football: "Where I think they've been really unlucky is that Leicester won the league. We all loved it, but it was a freak and a one-off. You don't see that happen - and it was a team not playing in Europe." "If Chelsea had played more games they probably would have had a few more injuries and couldn't maybe play the same team week in and week out." In the 72 matches played since the start of last season, Spurs have picked up 15 more points than any other side, despite having a net transfer spend of just £7m in that period. "They are ahead of everyone. More wins, more goals, the best defence, the best of everything." Media darlings, bless em'. Tottenham could be champions if they managed to have enough points to win it... just saying
Merging Cultures Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 It's the definition of bottling it.Playing really really well. Winning 9 games in a row and then when the pressure gets too much, they choke.
Aus Fox Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 Jeffery Schlupp is starting at centre back today! The world has gone mad! or maybe the answer was here all along.
