He does a good job of defending but would be nice to have a RB with genuine pace or a decent delivery to add more to the attack. I don't think it is asking too much to have a player to be able to do both and when you look around at other RB's in the league, you do see many who overlap with pace or can whip in dangerous crosses. If we continue with Huth and Wes our full backs have to be more defensive, for example if Simpson was more attacking our two cbs will look even more vulnerable than they do at times. i do agree though that a balanced right back with simpsons defensive side and Fuchs attacking ability would be excellent.

Always impressed me when I've seen him play. Mourinho tends to be more than happy for top players to waste in reserves though, than risk not having huge squad to choose from but worth a phonecall Claudio. Got to be better option than Hernandez at RB and maybe even an upgrade on Simpson in terms of all round contribution He's a tank but I'd like to see him at CDM.
StanSP Posted 3 January 2017 Posted 3 January 2017 Been impressed with Ryan Fraser recently. Probably not what we need right now but anyone else think he'd fit in our team? Certainly got the attitude and bit of aggression I think that we miss in our squad sometimes.

We already have gray,Musa,Mahrez, albrighton,Schlupp who play wide midfield.
Ted Maul Posted 4 January 2017 Posted 4 January 2017 John Terry would be an excellent short-term addition. I know we need a bit more pace at the back, but he would really help with set pieces and organisation. If he goes to Swansea as it is rumoured, they could really improve.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 4 January 2017 Posted 4 January 2017 Still think Frank Lampard has something to offer

I agree, rapidly improving player that has given Liverpool and Arsenal defenders a torrid time, can also play more centrally than most of our wingers.
Realist Guy In The Room Posted 4 January 2017 Posted 4 January 2017 Our transfer activity (or lack of it) is an absolute joke. Why are we not signing anyone FFS? Pathetic.

Wouldn't turn my nose up at JT bit I'd want him as well as a younger centre back who's a bit more mobile
frany104 Posted 4 January 2017 Posted 4 January 2017 We should be in for berahino. Out of contract soon and when motivated he is a good striker. I think the whole bad attitude thing with him has been exaggerated.
BenTheFox Posted 4 January 2017 Posted 4 January 2017 How much would Snodgrass cost with him wanting away and only having six months left on his contract?
AjcW Posted 4 January 2017 Posted 4 January 2017 Holger Badstuber has been made available for loan by Bayern Munich... apparently Man City at the front of the queue though.

Didnt this all come from him asking to leave then a spiral of events lead after?
LCCFox96 Posted 4 January 2017 Posted 4 January 2017 Ben Gibson looks a very accomplished CB for his age. I've always liked Michail Antonio from his Sheffield Wednesday days as well.

It's all gone from there. I think he would be a great signing. It would be nice to have some youth up front.

He wouldn't be available for the CL as he's already appeared once for Bayern. However despite his injury record, he'd be a great signing. I don't buy this 'we need a youthful CB'.. No, we need experience which Badstuber has plenty of. It's most likely that whichever CB comes in, will rotate with Huth not Morgan. And Morgan needs an experienced CB next to him or he is pants.
eddylcfc Posted 4 January 2017 Posted 4 January 2017 Should have gone for Timothée Kolodziejczak. Just signed for Borussia M. 25 year old quick, aggressive CB formally of Sevilla. But no, Instead we're after a clumsy ponderous CB from Italy.
Guest Posted 4 January 2017 Posted 4 January 2017 that defoe chap, he's a goodun. i wanted him back when he was still hanging about in canada. Mind you he's too important to sunderland now to get him at a reasonable price
