The CIES Football Observatory valued Tottenham Hotspur and England stars Kane and Alli at £135.5m million and £136.9m, respectively, ranking them behind only Neymar (£185.9m) in the current transfer window. Messi (£133.9m) was rated fourth, with Ronaldo (£99.2m) down in 11th place, behind Antoine Griezmann (£132.6m), Luis Suarez (£124.2m), Manchester United’s world-record signing Paul Pogba (£118.5m), Gonzalo Higuain (£106.1m), Eden Hazard (£103.4m) and Paulo Dybala (£101.7m). The list was compiled by the Swiss-based independent study centre from the 110 footballers from Europe’s big-five leagues with an estimated value of more than €40m (£35.3m). The Premier League dominated the list, with even the 10th most expensive of English-based player - Kane and Alli’s Spurs team-mate Eric Dier - said to be worth £75m. Gareth Bale, until last summer the world’s most costly footballer at £85.3m, was down in 43rd place (£58.9m). The list suggested Arsenal talisman Alexis Sanchez(£84.7m), who the club are trying to convince to sign a new contract, was worth more than his potential successor, the Monaco teenager Kylian Mbappe (£81.7m). In unveiling its findings, the CIES Football Observatory said: “The variables through which transfer values are modelled notably include the performance of both players and employer clubs, international status, contract, age and position.” Messi and Ronaldo’s ages, 29 and 32 respectively, appear to have counted against them, as has the fact the former has yet to sign a new contract with Barcelona to replace the one which expires next summer. The Argentina star’s value would doubtless soar again the moment he puts pen to paper on a deal worth £500,000-a-week after tax.
Izzy Posted 12 June 2017 Posted 12 June 2017 I've re read that list five times and still can't see Mahrez on it?

True, I did mean their CB pairing in particular but despite a good season I'm not convinced by Valencia at RB either. They've actually conceded relatively few goals compared to other top 6 sides in recent seasons but that's because they've been negative collectively rather than being a good defensive side.
Stadt Posted 12 June 2017 Posted 12 June 2017 I can understand Kane and Alli's value to some extent as they're young and key players for a very good Spurs team who are one of the richest clubs in the world now but Dier He's probably their most replaceable player.

The same Kane and Alli that haven't perfomed in Europe or on the international stage? 4
foxfanazer Posted 12 June 2017 Posted 12 June 2017 How can Pogba be worth more now than what United signed him for?
Dan Posted 12 June 2017 Posted 12 June 2017 Kane and Alli have never done anything outside of the Premier League. 2

foxes21 Posted 13 June 2017 Posted 13 June 2017 Pickfords a good signing for Everton. But I can't see them finishing top 7 next season, despite these promising signings. Europe will have a negative impact on their league position.

Tielemans63 Posted 13 June 2017 Posted 13 June 2017 (edited) Have to say I'm impressed with the way Everton are developing their squad. They've got a tonne of good, young British players and they're bringing in another in Pickford. In their squad they've got Lookman, Calvert-Lewin, Davies, Kenny, Holgate, Pennington, Barkley, Browning and now Pickford. Fair play to them for investing in British youth. They're going to be a very good side in the not too-distant future. Still think losing Steve Walsh to them was a huge blow we haven't really recovered from as yet. Edited 13 June 2017 by Paddy.
