I can see £65-70 million for Lukaku...but £100 million is insane.

They're hardly going to say "oh, just have him for a fiver."

He might not be worth that generally speaking but it's what he's worth to them, especially given they don't have to sell.

I think we're going to see a few really interesting years of transfer windows over the next few seasons because the balance of power is currently shifting way back towards the clubs. They're getting such insane revenue now from all these new TV deals that a player holding a club to ransom is going to get rarer and rarer.

Everton really don't need to sell him, especially not for cheap, and the other side of the coin is they know Chelsea can afford that.

Darren Fletcher to move from West Brom to Stoke.

Just been confirmed by Stoke.

Good signing. Didn't realise WBA let his contract run down.

Seems that their record-signing, Imbula, is a flop now after rarely appearing.

With Fletcher in, as well as the likes of Charlie Adam, Peter Crouch, Jonathan Walters and Glen Johnson - the club is starting to be one for some over-thirty individuals whose previous clubs didn't want at the end of their contracts.

Hughes tried to get Stoke playing good football but has just resorted to long ball tactics etc. He's bought Walters, crouch etc back in while getting rid of Bojan and affelly.

Newcastle United signing Ruben Semedo. Excellent signing, nice to see a  club showing ambition. With signings like that they'll be in Europe in no time. Puts our club to shame unfortuanlty. Reina, Semedo & Abraham and we've been linked with about 2 players.

Don't know why exactly, but hope they do well.

It might appear from this, based on certain previous recruitment mistakes, that they've learnt from the past and are willing to prove this.

Fletcher signs for Stoke. How disappointing felt he would be someone we would have been interested in.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been told he can leave Manchester United, the club won't use the option to prolong his contract.

Chelsea interested in signing Dani Alves & Manchester City have agreed terms with Monaco's Benjamin Mendy.

Any chance we could convince Pep he has the two Mendy's mixed up.

Looks like a heads up between us (Brighton) and Newcastle for Tammy Abraham on loan.

Personally hope he opts to sign for us, although I can see the attraction to Newcastle being greater.

Be interesting to see how he does in the Premier League.

Ambition is not something they've lacked the last two years!

neither is money! they're not the small, plucky or little Bournemouth any more so I hope that tag isn't attached to them any more.

Sky Sports reporting that Man City will sign Ryan Bertrand instead of paying £40m for Mendy. Strange one. Bertrand is not a bad player by any means but hardly a top class LB.

With Bertrand being English and young etc, his transfer fee will probably be the same amount? Hope Chilwell has fit a new contract sorted btw.

Chilwell still has 4 years remaining on the 30k a week deal he signed last summer.
