Corky Posted 30 January 2018 Posted 30 January 2018 Wouldn't surprise me if all three promoted clubs went this year. Huddersfield can't defend, Brighton struggle to score (and both have hideous run-ins) whilst Newcastle cannot win at home right now. With our own situation, two wins this week (tough but doable) puts us two points behind Arsenal before they next play. We have to stay in touch by the time we play them.
Wymsey Posted 30 January 2018 Posted 30 January 2018 If we beat Everton, they'll be facing an Arsenal side away who are keen to continue their strong home form at the expense of their poor one away. They could, potentially, be involved in a relegation battle as well by the end of the week.
Phube Posted 30 January 2018 Posted 30 January 2018 The battle for the drop this year is getting crazy... every time you think someone is dead and buried (Palace, Swansea) they put a run together. No idea who is going down?
Popular Post Stadt Posted 31 January 2018 Popular Post Posted 31 January 2018 (edited) "Wilfried Zaha has been the most consistent and has single-handedly dragged his side out of the relegation zone, so he gets the nod for me. "Mahrez has had his moments but I wouldn't say he's had as much of an impact. As for a defender, I'd probably say Ben Mee, who has had a fantastic season." Mahrez - 1950 minutes, 8 goals & 7 assists. Zaha - 1697 minutes, 4 goals & 1 assist. "moments" many more moments than the most consistent Zaha that's for certain Phil Thomson you glue sniffer. Edited 31 January 2018 by Wookie 4 1
Koke Posted 31 January 2018 Posted 31 January 2018 (edited) Arsenal might be shit but we never beat them. We can win the next 6 in a row and bypass them in the league but they will still come here in March and roll us over like they normally do. Edited 31 January 2018 by Koke 2

Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 31 January 2018 Posted 31 January 2018 Its all lined up for Brighton, Newcastle and Huddersfield to be relegated

filbertway Posted 31 January 2018 Posted 31 January 2018 Huddersfield are suffering with what we suffered with under Nige for most of the first season. Playing way too defensively and giving teams too much respect. They need to get back to pushing higher up the pitch and playing football again. Last nights showing against Liverpool was as pathetic a performance as I've seen.

They then played a more defensive game against Man United and Man City - winning and losing by a last minute goal. Your point is spot on though.
MC Prussian Posted 31 January 2018 Posted 31 January 2018 So Aubameyang to Arsenal is a done deal - confirmed by Borussia Dortmund. And Batshuayi moves to Dortmund on loan. That must surely mean that Giroud will be joining Chelsea, at least on loan.

I vaguely remember that one, I think they made 2 or 3 awful errors and Kane scored a stupidly good goal with his left foot. I think they've just got to suck it up and accept there will be more risk but more chance of scoring if they play further up the pitch without a back 8. They did this in the last 10 or so games of last season and they just looked terrible for the most part. They need to get back to what makes them good and enjoyable to watch. Winning the ball up the pitch and playing fast. There's not much worse than watching your team sit on the edge of their box showing absolutely no ambition for the majority of the game. I hated watching us from April 2016 - October 2017. I'll always be in the camp of sometimes tacking a battering trying to play good/entertaining football than sitting back, bending over trying to grind out a 0-0, eventually just losing anyway.

I think the forward department is a real concern for them, there isn't a top quality centre forward there whereas we had Ulloa, Nugent and Vardy who all contributed to our escape. Mounie and Depoitre are bang average.

Amazing to think that southampton could actually be relegated. Mike Channon must be turning in his grave.

Nigel Graham Pearson Posted 31 January 2018 Posted 31 January 2018 I know very little about him, is Aubameyang going to be a huge player that can lead them for a real title fight next season, or another typical Arsenal good but not quite good enough buy?

He's just another version of Lacazette.

Very good footballer. Arsenal with a front three of Ozil, Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan are a dangerous side. They're nowhere near title-chasing quality though. Not when the best player from the rest of the side is Jack Wilshere.
Wymsey Posted 31 January 2018 Posted 31 January 2018 Think Arsenal will win either the Europa League or the League Cup. Don't think they're 'finished' just yet, but it does feel that Wenger is on borrowed time there.

Mounie started quite well for them, again it could be more a case of being isloated. Looking back, we had a very nice combo of strikers with different qualities. They all looked pretty useless until we started trying to score goals though.
winteriscoming Posted 31 January 2018 Posted 31 January 2018 I fear for southampton, they are on an awful run and the fans want pellergrino out.
