Well we need a creative midfielder & CB regardless about Mahrez

Certainly a CB.  If Iheanacho comes in and it's true about his desire to play the no 10 role then where does another midfielder go?Even if Kelechi plays as an out and out striker with Vardy, who makes way in midfield?  Drinkwater? Ndidi? Iborra? At what point do the likes of Barnes and Lawrence get a chance? I'm not saying we shouldn't sign a creative midfielder, and I will wait to get shot down here, but a creative midfielder is a "nice to have" rather than a "must have".

Less than Slimani.

(And I laughed at Mahrez going for the same price as Slim let alone less :crylaugh:)

Rather let him rot in the reserves than take anything less that £35million. We need to take a leaf out of Levys book when it comes to negotiating.

Todays transfer fees are even more mental than a few years ago, for Roma to bid 20million for Mahrez is like bidding 8million 2 years ago, they are taking the piss

IF and I mean if it's true,  the latest is that he's agreed terms with Roma on the condition that Arsenal,  who he'd prefer to sign for don't put in an equal bid.

Two things here.  One, I don't think Roma will ever offer enough money as I think it's just show for the fans after they've just sold most of their crown jewels. Secondly, as a very decent big club they should tell the pretentious little turd to piss off, how disrespectful IF true!

Stop comparing the £20mill to Walker/this Country. The PL has a lot more money than Seria A, in fact whichever clubs finished 20th in the PL receive more money than whichever club wins Seria A. If you're looking for £50mill then it won't come from a side like Roma.

As an Arsenal fan I can also tell you that the 20 million is to spread out over a five year period.

It gets worse ... not only is it a derisory offer they want to pay for him via a hire purchase agreement

Not really.

They are competing for titles - we are competing to be the best of the rest.

This is football as we've seen in 15/16, Leicester could very well be in competition for the title again with Arsenal. Mahrez could be the difference maker. We know he's a player that turns up when there is something to win as we've seen in the champions league this season. He isn't Leicester's all time best scorer for Leicester in the UCL for nothing, and not to mention the 15/16 season performance.

21 million + add ons?

I can only assume that the add ons are "After Riyad Mahrez has been a Roma player for 5 minutes a further payment of 29m must be made"

i'd rather he went for 30m abroad than 40m to a rival in the prem

I think you meant '£50m abroad than £51m to a rival'? If I knew how I'd have edited it for you...

Absolutely. Not to mention we'll be seen as soft targets for future negotiations. Pay over the odds or go elsewhere.

Hopefully a succession of rejected bids will make Mahrez more angry to the point where he wants to play in the team again and show what he's all about, in the hope that he can finally leave in January.

It's becoming predicable now, reckon he'll stay.

I think the  reported informations by ssk ( Leicester rejected 20 m £ bid from Rona ) is a lure from monchi DS of AS Roma in order to get sufficint and quiet time  to do business ( negos on mahrez salary and the real and agreed bid for LCFC )

Surely the rejected bid is around 30 m £ (35m€)  also  reported by ssk

So mahrez s seems a priority for AS Roma

Are mediaset likely to know that he's agreed terms with Roma?

I've never heard of them.

How can he have agreed terms with Roma when they haven't even had a bid accepted. Absolute nonsense probably being stirred up by his agent
