Or possible your part of the brown nose brigade I was referring to

TBF claiming a player who scored 17 goals got 11 assists and won the PFA Player of the year has "No end Product" is clearly very inaccurate, he has plenty of end product. That's a direct hand in 28 goals

You can way it up both ways,

we talk about the great impact he's had forgetting the poor performances he had,

i think my frustration with mahrez is more the fact when he's good he's good, when he's crap it's because he been numbered up on,

when the truth is he's simply been poor,

vardy was called a one hit wonder,Morgan to old,but mahrez quality, when the truth was he was the biggest disappointment last season and didn't up his game when required

He's definitely shot himself in the foot by not giving 100% last season. I don't think it was malicious but he always knew he was going and you could just tell at times it appeared as if he was holding back just in case he got injured and ruined his transfer plans but this has kind of backfired and clubs will now be looking thinking this is a player that can't get fired up to perform for 100k a week.

Whoever has been in the lads ear needs to be shot of. Is Arsenal really a step up? They are in a massive decline and their best players want out.

Mahrez would be best off staying another season and rebuilding his reputation because right now he'll be lucky to sign for a club in the Europa League.

I think you're right that another season here could improve his long term career. Another great season would prove to the elite clubs that he isn't a one season wonder

He will be staying... cant see any big offers or clubs to match his wages.

If you said look we've signed this guy for 35mil and i looked at his performance i would think you were joking.

He needs to knuckle down and sort his game out or he wont be starting  for us never mind any other club

We are now at a stage where we have a few players that are gambles: slimani...mendy...amarty.... kapuska..  ie enough

We have ambition so we must only sign players with top six quality.

Similarly mahrez's targets will look for proven quality.... so he will be staying unless they are gamblers

I think you're right. The fact that Liverpool chose to pay 34M for a winger and Mahrezs name wasn't even mentioned shows that CL teams aren't interested. Arsenal may offer him Europa league which is about his standard currently. If he wants a CL club he's needs to knuckle down and regain form.

Tricky one for the club if he stays now. As mentioned above if he stays does he get as much game time as they know he is not fully committed ?

If he doesn't get much game time how is he going to attract a big club for a decent fee ?

He's gonna look like a right tit then, after that statement which he's made!

Seems to me he was given licence to make that statement for the express purpose of honouring a verbal agreement and letting him see if he could get an early transfer to a Champions League or other approved club at a roughly given price so that we would have time to make contingency plans too.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's some time frame understanding whereby Mahrez commits his future here for another period if nothing is sorted quickly. I can't believe we'd leave ourselves open to a last minute transfer if we've no-one settled to take his place.

Lots of spare money's no substitute for a competitive team.

He's a known quantity at a known price, I don't see him as any great risk to the buyer because logic suggests he'd do even better in a more star-studded team where it'd be harder to double up on him than he has here and he's been highly effective for us despite people rightly contesting last season's consistency.

Maybe now, hopefully, has reflected on this a lot and now admits he can only go to a club he wants if he performs well consistently and not like he had done last season at times in his mindset in seemingly being elsewhere on the pitch and not being fully-committed.

As I said Ambition mixed up with ability. Do We really want someone who has quite clearly stated he thinks he's too good for us ?  And even if he does stay how would he play any better than last season with a big chip on his should and the humiliation of knowing none of the big teams actually rated him as high as rated himself ?. Get rid asp.

Mahrez is under contract.  If teams don't meet our valuation then there will be no sale.

All this talk of transfer deadline day bargains rubbish.

The lad is a professional, I saw no signs of sulking...only being marked out if most games....if he remains here I'm sure he will get his head down and have a cracking 2017/18 season.

If he goes then good luck to the lad. I will be forever grateful for his time here.

Sorry but this is absolutely ridiculous.

You can't rate him very highly if you think last season is a reflection of a committed Mahrez.

Did you get to many games or are you basing your opinion on highlights and other people's opinions? ?

I watched him closely all season (home).

If reports are to be believed with Riyad wanting a move now apparently favouring Arsenal now over Chelsea and Spurs, what happened to the dream move ???

It just sounds like desperation now with all these articles with him now saying how great Arsehole Wenger is etc etc etc, not one club has put a bid in for him let alone made an approach to the club so what next for our Riyad when the players return in a couple of weeks for pre season training will he stay or will he go ?????

All these websites are recyling news. There are no new sources, they are just re-using the same ol' content to get website traffic.

I think you're all getting slightly ahead of yourselves tbh.

if there's been no interest by August 21st it might be worth discussing why no one has put a bid in, as its June 21st Id imagine potential buyers could well be biding their time.

The way it's played out thus far I can see it being a bit of a saga.

edit: yeah ok it's June 22nd point still stands lol

They will be, longer it drags on the more chance he'll kick up a stink about asking price, try and drive the price down, say he's going on strike etc. Teams know if they play it right and he does what they want he could end up going for a poxy £25m like Payet and we won't want a disruptive shit hanging about.

Yep as soon as a player publicly announces he wants to leave a club it basically fvcks it for them.

Everyone is reporting that Mahrez wants an Arsenal move.

He is an absolute mug then. Arsenal have been on the downward spiral for a long time and i could genuinely see them finishing 6th or worse for many years to come.

Plus Wenger (Arsenal) will only pay bottom dollar, so he could end very frustrated as the fee won't be agreed until 2019!!

The arsenal move was already sorted last summer re personal terms so there is little work to be done on that interest from his perspective. the problem with arsenal is that their budget is a lot lower than you might think and wenger has to get players in to fill areas where he is weak. riyad isn't a priority. if arsenal aren't getting any business down then they may make a move for him at 30m as a bit of a panic buy to quieten their fans. otherwise they will wait until late in the window and see what funds are left.
