The Doctor Posted 13 May 2017 Posted 13 May 2017 So Bobby madley ****s us over around penalties? Par the course. Bloke is so useless when we have him it's bordering on suspicious
M0901 Posted 13 May 2017 Posted 13 May 2017 Sterling really grates on me. His arrogance, clearly been built up his whole career so believes his own hype, not to mention the way he runs. What a cock.
steflcfc Posted 13 May 2017 Posted 13 May 2017 Second half they gave it a good go. shame the first wasn't like that. if Sterling swinging his leg at the ball and blocking Kaspers view isn't interfering with play, then I don't know what is. It shouldn't have counted. But on replays Mahrez challenge looks outside the box. I have to admit as much as Mahrez hadn't missed a pen (not sure how today's counts haha) I'm never 100 percent confident when he steps up for a pen. Vards should take them for me.
Cadno'r Cymoedd Posted 13 May 2017 Posted 13 May 2017 We deserved a draw. Played very well after the Shinji goal.
purpleronnie Posted 13 May 2017 Posted 13 May 2017 It's funny that no-one cares about players encroaching when a pen is scored.
KFS Posted 13 May 2017 Posted 13 May 2017 Just now, shen said: Oh do one, will you? Oi, don't you start as well Agreed. He got most of the big calls right (Sterling offside aside which was the lino's call), but it was needless to blow the whistle as much as he did. Killed the flow of the game completely which probably suited us more. Embarrassing. Please elaborate as to why a player strolling around for 9 months after recently giving an interview saying he's our best player, gets marked out of the game because the rest of the team aren't stars, and that he wants regular CL football isn't to be scrutinised? How is it embarrassing to want more from a player making those claims? It's embarrassing coming onto a forum to constantly claim that a player isn't playing under his full capacity, and fight that opinion against most people, just because he's from your country of birth. It's embarrassing to defend those people even more so. Please elaborate Shen, because I'm not really in your headspace right now.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 13 May 2017 Author Posted 13 May 2017 Kasper completely schooling Madley on the laws of the game...
TJB-fox Posted 13 May 2017 Posted 13 May 2017 One of our best ever players, has a decent game, is our only creative spark, slips over and gets abuse classic FT, you've gotta laugh
Ted Maul Posted 13 May 2017 Posted 13 May 2017 Mahrez penalty technically a free-kick, Silva goal technically offside. Lets one go, and goes out of his way to penalise the other. Has anyone ever given a free kick for that? Griezmann did exactly the same and it's fine.

You show your ingrained bias by doing so. But that's clearly not what the rule was put into place for. I have seen hundreds of penalties like that and never seen one disallowed in over thirty years of watching football. So yes I can complain about that shit decision along with their players in the box before he hit the ball. Add this to the offside goal and the red card they should have had and I am livid with that officiating.

Wait until next season when he moves and they're crying that we don't have someone of his talent.

In terms of shit decisions given against us per game he's refereed he's miles ahead of the rest. Makes Pawson and Moss look good.
MC Prussian Posted 13 May 2017 Posted 13 May 2017 Slightly devastated. I thought we'd give it at least a go for the last few remaining matches, instead we were presented with some of the most horrific build-up play (or lack thereof) in weeks. There was no attacking intent in the first half hour or so, only sitting back, inviting pressure, allowing Manchester City to create chances. To all the ones saying we should've won this today, on what basis?? I'm rather disappointed that the players we saw on the pitch today (with a handful of exceptions) hardly ever looked like they were in it, but more so already in holiday mode. We've still got a chance to go eight in the table and we're served such dross. Madley made the game all about himself and that's a sign of a very bad referee. Controversial decisions, not following the book (well, breaking the laws he should protect), not seeing blatant fouls or offsides. The match only escalated numerous times because of him. As for Mahrez' double-touch of the penalty strike, unlucky. But those are the rules. However, the penalty should never have been given, just another gift by a clueless official. Unfortunately, I never feel that confident when Mahrez steps up and his initial run was almost comical. Just shoot it into the net, no need for fancy pants stuff! It's symptomatic of his season, and he's got himself to blame for a large part. He's been doubled up almost all season, but I've rarely seen him getting around it (by allowing others to pierce through instead). He still insists on doing it all on his own, which can be frustrating to watch.
Jattdogg Posted 13 May 2017 Posted 13 May 2017 Sometimes you benefit from blown calls and sometims you dont. Mahrezs pk actually looked like he was fouled outside the box so could have been a fk as well. Tough call. We played well enough for a earned draw it just didnt happen. Suspect officiating but no real surprise on that front. Albrighton MOTM
KingsX Posted 13 May 2017 Posted 13 May 2017 Hard to calm down after (a) some from the refs and (b) some from the haters here. BUT ... in a game that meant more to MC, ours went out for the second half and outworked and outplayed them. Albrighton leading by example, putting his body on the line, and the lads followed like heroes.

Ted Maul Posted 13 May 2017 Posted 13 May 2017 Reckon Man City fans will moan about the FA being against them again any time soon?
john ridley Posted 13 May 2017 Posted 13 May 2017 Bit of bad luck with the penalty. ...but look on the bright side it's really pissed off the mouthy gooners, top 4 doesn't look likely now .
Torten Posted 13 May 2017 Posted 13 May 2017 Robbed but that's the price you pay for performing how we did first half.
sishades Posted 13 May 2017 Posted 13 May 2017 Is all this abuse towards each other really necessary? Hugs all around....
TrentFox Posted 13 May 2017 Posted 13 May 2017 The danger Mahrez causes will not be fully appreciated by many in here until he's gone. His quality on the ball is just exceptional. But he's never, ever been convincing as a penalty-taker. The fact the ball inadvertently 'went in' just disguises a stuttering, doubt-laden run up.
1969 Posted 13 May 2017 Posted 13 May 2017 On reflection with the players we had missing and as the important decisions didn't go our way we played really well. I actually thought we were the better team in the second half.As frustrating as mahrez can be - his flashes of quality do create chances. If he goes we definitely need a creative midfielder/winger. Equally, as good as Benny can look at times he proved to me again with that tackle/ penalty that he's not a long term answer.
