Always Next Year Posted 27 August 2017 Posted 27 August 2017 Like lots of other city fans I watched this game on BT Sport, how ever after about 20mins I turned the sound off. Fed up of Hargraves and The rest chomping on about how Man U where over running us and being in total control of the game. They have won two games against lower table teams, we gave them a harder task, so they won 2-0 one goal that might have been off side but not a 4-0 romp like many said it would be. They will meet far better teams than us and I wonder if Hargraves and his pals will still be in bed with them like they where yesterday.
Rialto 290352 Posted 27 August 2017 Posted 27 August 2017 The BBC in all aspects of their coverage are the mouthpiece of the Establishment. Long ago gave up watching them.
davieG Posted 27 August 2017 Posted 27 August 2017 Well it took all the media until Chelsea beat Spurs to accept we could win the League 15/16. It's always been like that and always will be, accept and move on.
sk3since03 Posted 27 August 2017 Posted 27 August 2017 I noticed it Hargreaves's commentary is impossible to listen to, he's worse than Michael Owen
Stadt Posted 27 August 2017 Posted 27 August 2017 United are one of the title favourites and one of the biggest clubs in the world, what did you expect? We defended admirably but we didn't really trouble them, so of course the commentary is going to comment on the dominant team.
AlloverthefloorYesNdidi Posted 27 August 2017 Posted 27 August 2017 Tbf when Gray could have put Mahrez through they did say that was the closest opportunity for a clear cut chance by either team all game. Said for all their dominance Man U hadnt created a clear cut chance. And we were over run for about 90% of the match.
Mickyblueeyes Posted 27 August 2017 Posted 27 August 2017 We sat back and played aimless balls forward when we did manage to get it. What exactly did we give them to talk about? In 2015/2016, we were the talk of the land. We were on every week and the pundits spoke about us every week. It is because we played the best football and the nation was interested. Yesterday, we showed up and were the side act. No one but us sad bastards are going to be interested in that. You can't blame the media for lavishing praise in the team the neutral tunes in for.
Koke Posted 27 August 2017 Posted 27 August 2017 I tuned into BT Sports 2 minutes before kick off and switched it off at the final whistle. Plus, we didn't really offer anything of note on the pitch for them to talk about anyway.
Monsell1976 Posted 27 August 2017 Posted 27 August 2017 I agree it's one sided, but who do the neutral viewers, want to hear about, a multi million pound team, with world class players, and a massive world recognised club, or us, who had a one season wonder, and talk about the likes of albrighton, James, Okazaki, etc. We are not interesting to neutrals, we had our 15 minutes of fame, normality has resumed
StanSP Posted 27 August 2017 Posted 27 August 2017 Made me laugh when Hargreaves said Maguire isn't getting enough praise. He didn't seem to give any either so perhaps he needs to practice what he preaches! He's one of the worst commentators right now.
Corky Posted 27 August 2017 Posted 27 August 2017 The media will always favour the top clubs. It is why most of their games are on TV and the likes of Stoke, Watford, Southampton's aren't. Keeping their multitude of fans interested means increased viewing figures.
Izzy Posted 27 August 2017 Posted 27 August 2017 Hargreaves is a bit of a noob but considering Darren Fletcher is a Forest fan, I think he's always pretty fair to us...
Wymsey Posted 27 August 2017 Posted 27 August 2017 They've always been like that towards certain clubs. It's a shame as they do analysis etc well imo.
lgfualol Posted 27 August 2017 Posted 27 August 2017 Apart from Maguire and Schmeichel I wouldn't want to hear about us. This is why I will skip MOTD.
Mike Oxlong Posted 27 August 2017 Posted 27 August 2017 I find cardboard more interesting than an Owen Hargreaves commentary.
DennisNedry Posted 27 August 2017 Posted 27 August 2017 We did nothing all game but defend - we couldn't string 2 passes together. Of course the coverage will reflect Man Utd's dominance and play.
Tuna Posted 27 August 2017 Posted 27 August 2017 I don't like BT Sports commentators in general. All generally dull and loathsome.
foxinsocks Posted 27 August 2017 Posted 27 August 2017 but sky's on pitch interviews and the use of the highlights interactive screen on the golf buggy look awful
peterborofox Posted 27 August 2017 Posted 27 August 2017 Hate Bt Only game I remember worse was defeat at Annfield last season Constant Liverpool bum in
Strokes Posted 27 August 2017 Posted 27 August 2017 I watched an Arabic channel, they sounded fair, to be fair.
Webbo Posted 27 August 2017 Posted 27 August 2017 1 minute ago, Strokes said: I watched an Arabic channel, they sounded fair, to be fair. Sounded like they were impressed by that Hari Mag Way.

The Horse's Mouth Posted 27 August 2017 Posted 27 August 2017 It seems bizarre to me that you have former Man United players commentating on a game. I can understand a pundit, you have the one ex leicester & united. But to have someone actually commentating through the game who has a clear bias seems odd to me, especially considering they've got plenty more commentators who could do the job. Yet, I can't remember the last time I watched Man United and it wasn't called by an ex player. Saying that, i don't think hargreaves was that bias, he just sounded utterly clueless when talking about us.

I always find it odd that every time Newcastle play Sunderland Sky have Niall Quinn in the commentary box. It's a job he does rarely, but he always gets that gig. It's a big local derby and they're getting a player who played for one and is clearly biased to sit and call it throughout the match. Weird choice when they use so many commentators like Neville, Provin, Carragher and Smith.
