How can you not like Christmas songs. They are great. Bands just having a laugh.

Well, the upbeat ones are anyway. I'm not a fan of the slow sad ones like Lonely This Christmas.

This should go in the "What annoys you about the what on the roads has annoyed you today thread" thread

Ha!  To be fair,  I was having an internal debate whether to post it in what grinds my gear thread or the road thread or this one!

The winter solstice has just passed and people seem to be rejoicing that the evenings are going to start getting lighter, but I like it getting dark early.

I used to like it mainly because I could stay up until the early hours getting bent and playing video games with my friends and i didn't get that "oh shit, it's getting light" pang of guilt around 4am.

The good old days.

Immigration is bad for the country.

The uncontrolled and unchecked immigration that some bleeding hearts want definitely is.

I'm as left as they come but there needs to be a rigorous system to moderate immigration.

And One thing some folk seem to want to ignore is that its healthy to have a native culture.

For the purposes of a common cause, then I'd agree.

However, there are also instances where it is counterproductive.

Xmas presents are shit. People always buy gash that gets binned along with the acres of wrapping material.

This is my first year of zero presents and it was ace. Didn’t get one, didn’t buy one, saved a mint and just focused on having a lovely day.

The wife and i have been married for 11 years and have never bought eachother gifts at xmas. Granted to us xmas is just a fun time of year as we aren't christian per say.  As a kid, I got presents but my parents did the same thing as did my wifes parents.

We buy our kids a few presents  (nothing crazy) and enjoy the company together more so. Put the tree up together, the lights etc. We bake together, cook together, have dance parties, watch movies, play board games and enjoy it more so that way.

We figure, get what you want when you need it. Of course  this only works if you can afford it and well everyone's situation is different. I have family that loveeeee sharing gifts on xmas and things are usually good for them.

For us at least, We spoil eachother more so on our birthdays. To each their own.

Gemma Collins is what happens if you combine a pig and a person.

Is the pig the bit where she gets her intellect from?

Not sure if this is unpopular but I think what on the roads has annoyed you today thread smacks slightly of holier than thou attitude-   I am pretty sure posters complaining about transgressions have committed the same said offence for most of the time.

Beside,  I do not think it is very conductive to take to the internet to rage about the roads as that would encourage lack of patience on the roads by being easily worked up.    I can understand posts reporting on cars joining the motorway in the wrong direction or blatant blocking in of the driveway without a care but middle lane hoggers or not nodding in thanks at being given the way?  Come on.

 :P to you lol

I thought of it all by little self and I'm quite pleased with the response. It's not road rage on-line. We've nearly all been niggled by some insignificant but nonetheless annoying incident whilst driving.

The bolded quote, I agree with. We're all guilty of transgressions in our lives and a lot of that gets posted on FT, not just in the "roads" topic.

The title is "annoyed" not  rage, BTW.

I'll take your virtual response above over being threatened by you opening the ambulance doors in a peeved manner on the road 😇

In all seriousness, I think you made a fair point about the ethos and the purpose of the thread which I think I have lost the sight of somewhat.   It definitely has its merits- the discussion about undertaking or overtaking the hogger in the third lane in four lane motorway for an example.

It is the hypocrisy of complaining about common offences such as not acknowledging after being let in the traffic or hogging middle lanes that annoyed me the most as I know we all have done it absently minded at some point in our lives.

I find these 'achievements' of 10k runs or half marathons boring.

Not overly into those that do these iron man or triathlon things either.

I get the personal adrenaline buzz that the participants will get, but you've paid to 'compete'. It's not a real race or competition. Anyone can enter.

I do jog. I do bike ride. But never, ever feel the urge to 'compete', measure or gauge time/distance

‘Joker’ is a terrible film. Got around to watching it today and gave up after an hour. It’s like a GCSE student has been allowed to make an art house film with famous actors. Found it incredibly boring and self indulgent, 2 minutes of action followed by what felt like 20 minutes of a bloke dancing in a public toilet. Utter w**k.
